Armed Forces Breakfast Club in Chingford with Johnny Mercer, Minister of State for Veterans' Affairs. Breakfast Clubs are an excellent example of self-help within the Armed Forces Community. They provide an opportunity for ex-Servicemen and women to meet up over breakfast and share some stories, and offer each other advice. These gatherings provide an opportunity to share common interests and concerns and to talk through some of the challenges the members face, including health, welfare and housing. @AfvbcN With thanks to @JohnnyMercerUK for visiting us in Chingford.

@SueCunny @JohnnyMercerUK But it's fine... we are doing very well. Membership increasing daily, new 'lifelong support' platform in development. We met the shadow Minister for Veterans Affairs in Falmouth on our stand at the National Armed Forces Day 2023, who was very interestsed & pledged his support.

@JohnnyMercerUK @VeteransGovUK Hi @JohnnyMercerUK. Over 420 AFVBCs mainly UK, also across 14 counries worldwide. HMPPS conference, Birmingham 29/03 - an AFVBC in every prison. New purpose built platform coming. Sunderland AFC have a club. AFVBC's Ending isolation. Be good to see you.
