Are we going to post all year about how the writers on #chillsubs named us their top fiction magazine? Why yes, yes we are. This is one that makes us so very proud as it's voted on my writers, the reason we got into this in the first place!

@brecht_dp 100% agree! And I'll add to it, all contests that litmags submit stories to (Pushcart, O.Henry, etc) should also be read blind by the contest!

Serious submission/writing question. On our submission page we ask for a short story summary, just a sentence or two. Authors usually write the most obscure epic sounding things. If they were writing a “story summary” of Star Wars IV it would read… “A lost boy on a desolate planet meets a runaway pair with a secret he must unravel to save himself, and save others from a looming evil.” What’s wrong with just telling us what the story is actually about, you know, like we asked? “A boy teams up with a wizard to save a princess being held captive by an evil empire; he then returns to destroy the planet exploding ship she was being held captive on.” Is being clever and obtuse really what other publishers want?
