Fascism isn't society's immune system against communism. How could it be? It is socialist in nature, and therefore communism-adjacent. No, fascism is society's autoimmune disease. Fascism is what happens when the healthy disgust response enters a purity spiral... and begins targeting more and more things with greater and greater disproportionate responses. Having a functional civilization requires a balanced equilibrium between tolerance and intolerance. Therefore, the fascist impulse must be kept on a leash... a long leash, so it can do its job, but a leash nonetheless. Otherwise you start committing genocide and picking fights with the entire world at once, then you lose and discredit your ideas, opening the way for gay race communist depravity. Which leads to more fascism. If we understand this feedback cycle, understand the balance we need to maintain, the fluctuations between the fascist and the deviant can be kept small, and society can be kept stable, reaping the benefits of both generative mainstream normality and creative artistic counterculture. But if we don't have this foresight, and decide that intolerance is an absolute good every time we've had too much tolerance lately, and that tolerance is an absolute good every time we've had too much intolerance, then we will be doomed to a perpetual cycle of social upheaval as we fail to learn from history. Now is not the time for more tolerance and anti-fascism. Now is the time to purge the unclean, the traitor, the mutant, the heretic, the xenos. Now is the time to drive out the servants of the Ruinous Powers and put them to the fire and the sword. We just have to remember to stop before we become a stagnant bureaucratic socialist hellscape, unable to advance, adapt, or change, fanatically worshiping the corpse of its former leader.
