Musk, Reform, the AfD in Germany, other far right parties, the Tories under @KemiBadenoch ... all have one thing in common: They've all decided they have more to gain by exploiting the worst in people than they have by bringing out the best in people. #R4Today

@Peston @ONS That's the problem with relying on the lazy, cowardly, humanity-limiting, planet-wrecking, relentless pursuit of GDP growth to 'raise all boats' as a substitute for effective, equitable, sustainable distribution #Peston
@Keir_Starmer History shows that growth might deliver some of what Starmer fantasises about, but you need unsustainable levels to deliver significant benefits for all, because the majority of the money ends up in the pockets of the usual suspects. We need better taxes. #wato #bbcwato

@KemiBadenoch 2b/ I think the real issue here is that, whatever the rights or wrongs of the judge's ruling, both Badenoch and Starmer seem to think that only 'particular types' deserve safe routes for seeking asylum.

@AdrianRamsay And this lot arguably wants PFI on steroids while simultaneously nobbling regulators.
UK regulators have outlined plans to tear down regulatory barriers in order to support UK growth following calls from the government.

@UnitedRo4d @Telegraph I was particularly thinking of 'More desirable houses that are less readily available hold value better', but I guess that's more a case of rare exception/'privilege' than fine detail. I agree that describing this psyche shift as a challenge would be a gross understatement.

@BBCr4today IMO, the UK should be avoiding any behaviour that doesn't help to form a global coalition standing up to Trump's bullying.

@liarpoliticianz Unless it's failing to recognise irony, Grok/XI at least has the measure of that post, as at 13:33 on 12Feb25.

@KemiBadenoch 2/ I'm no Starmer fan, but there's also this: #PMQs
I think Starmer is being quite generous by suggesting that Badenoch hasn't done her homework. Because, if she has, she's being deliberately misleading. #PMQs #PoliticsLive

@BBCPolitics The UK should be joining a global coalition to stand up to bully Trump and his unpleasant sidekick. #PMQs #PoliticsLive
@BBCr4today There's always one little creep who puts perceived personal advantage above what's right by siding with the bully.

@Peston The UK should go further than that by joining a global coalition to stand up to bullying from Trump and Musk. #PMQs #Peston
