@MICHIGANFAN @jeffiafrate Criticizing Brad Holmes doesn’t equal losing trust or faith. It’s bringing attention to a clear deficiency this team has had.

@MICHIGANFAN @jeffiafrate Disagree. He said the biggest loser following the SB was Brad Holmes bc he’s missed multiple opportunities to hoist a lombardi with the roster he’s built. Missed bc of his refusal to deviate from his “process” as Jeff so beautifully eluded to.

@WillRockJr @jeffiafrate You didn’t expect what exactly? Go look at the Lions drafts the last 4 years in terms of the Defensive Line. Aidan and Alim in 4 years? Investment in DE has been ignored for years. Whether via draft, FA or trades. Missed opportunity in ‘23 for Danielle Hunter at the deadline.

@NickFaberNFL @HonoluluBlues_ @jeffiafrate you respectfully disagree that Danielle Hunter wasn't available? Every credible news outlet has dozens of reports that Minnesota were fielding calls for Danielle Hunter when Kirk Cousins went down. or you respectfully disagree that the injuries didn't come after the deadline?

@NickFaberNFL @HonoluluBlues_ @jeffiafrate Danielle Hunter was available two years ago for the Terrion pick. You don't blow a 17-point lead with him. Also, had you gotten Danielle in FA this offseason, you wouldn't have known or projected that the team was going to suffer those injuries. Just hindsight.

@NickFaberNFL @HonoluluBlues_ @jeffiafrate You're also living in hindsight. At the deadline, Carlton and Alim were healthy. Trading for a Superstar EDGE was a massive plus. You can't predict injuries, doesn't excuse the moves that were made. 2 years late. Missed on Danielle.

@NickFaberNFL @HonoluluBlues_ @jeffiafrate Reader was average. Carlton was very good. Davenport? All of the '24 draft picks being complete misses? Doesn't mean you can dismiss that going for Danielle Hunter in '23 or Myles Garrett this past season/this offseason. Holmes' history drafting DE outside of Hutchinson?

@orchard_drew @LionsSyndicate Entire defense wasn’t on IR at that point. Alim and Carlton went down weeks after. Can’t use that argument to defend Brad.

@NickFaberNFL @HonoluluBlues_ @jeffiafrate Operating the same way & expecting different results is insanity. Missed opportunity with Danielle Hunter during NFC title run. Would’ve cost you Arnold pick + some. You’re too focused on the word “loser”. Brad can’t operate this team the same way he did when he took it over.

@HonoluluBlues_ @jeffiafrate I mean, you're focusing on the word "loser" and throwing out the entire argument Jeff made. Remove your fandom for a second and realize what he's saying is spot-on. Can't keep the same process and expect different results.

@LionsRoyalty That’s exactly part of the issue. the ‘24 draft class isn’t looking great. Holmes’ FA acquisitions have been mostly misses. Unfortunate injuries were part of the equation for going after Myles mid-season. Goff playing awful is a variable to consider with or without Garrett.

@LionsRoyalty You completely missed the mark here. Trading for Myles Garrett shows intent + learning from past mistakes (i.e. Danielle Hunter) Unless you think running it back is the way to go?

@CHEN313 Proud that they actually went for it. Think of it this way. Would you rather your kid sit on the sidelines and do nothing? or jump into the action, regardless of the result, and show character.

You do realize none of those moves were made by a team that had either: 1. Been to a Conference Championship game in the previous 2 seasons 2. Won 12+ games in the previous 2 seasons 3. Returning a Top 5 Offense All examples were desperate moves by unproven teams.
What about the Khalil Mack trade, the Deshaun Watson trade, the Russell Wilson trade, the Davante Adams trade, the Stefon Diggs trade. My point isn't that it can fail, it's that it DOES fail more of than not. Stafford is the one example people fall back on.

@NatSparbeck @DetroitPodcast @Lions There is nobody that exists in this universe that thinks you can keep all these players. Not one, and if there is one, they are a word I can’t say on the Internet. You’re losing players even if you don’t acquire Garrett. All for different reasons.

@FootballGuy_Al @jeffiafrate 1. And? 2. (You know this) is pretty condescending considering Garrett wants to play for a contender, not seek a final payday. 3. You can acquire him, rework his current deal and move the money however you want.
