The scarlet elf Cup (Sarcoscypha austriaca) is a bright red/orange fungi with a distinctive cup shape. I often find them in our damper woodlands at Althorp, especially in February. They always cheer up these grey, damp mornings. Conservation@althorp.com #fungi #Spencerestates

@StacieP62036695 @ScarecrowNeste1 We do have cases, very robust measures are in place, especially in the poultry industry. It is currently viewed as being less prevalent than it was previously in the UK.

A goldfinches beak is unusually fine and pointed for a finch. it is perfectly adapted for extracting fine seeds such as teasel. conservation@althorp.com
