@RealMNchiefsfan IDK if it is intentional or not, I am amused at the non-standard language for the prop bets (e.g., "higher" instead of "over") - or is this an Underdog thing?

@PranavSriraman 2024 is at least #3 and I think challenges for #2. 2020 is correct given the injuries but healthy they challenge for #2 and maybe #1.

@DesiMorejon @ByGerrySullivan @wingoz @BuffaloBills You have ONE cherry-picked stat and plenty of stats that refute you in the broader picture and you want to argue individual calls that didn't go your way and ignoring my counterexamples. Not a serious position. 2/2

@DesiMorejon @ByGerrySullivan @wingoz @BuffaloBills Based on the level of reasoning I see in sports media and on Twitter I can't think of a stat I care about less than what the average NFL fan thinks about refereeing

@DesiMorejon @ByGerrySullivan @wingoz @BuffaloBills I gave you a whole thread of calls missed on Buffalo, you think those are all wrong? Just watched the Kincaid play too, knee's down

@DesiMorejon @ByGerrySullivan @wingoz @BuffaloBills So you are conceding all the other points I've made an putting all your eggs in this basket? Interesting

@DesiMorejon @ByGerrySullivan @wingoz @BuffaloBills And here's a bunch of other calls that were missed on Buffalo, including an uncalled false start that would have negated Buffalo's TD before half, which is the score that kept it a close game
LT clearly moving a split second before the snap. Not called. But that's football (as Jason alludes to)! I'm not engaging in much ref discourse over the next 2 weeks because of what you took away from THAT terrific game w/ 2 terrific teams was "refs," you don't know ball.

@DesiMorejon @ByGerrySullivan @wingoz @BuffaloBills In the end, it's all bad faith, confirmation bias, and/or small sample size. As evidenced by the complete cognitive dissonance of thinking the refereeing is all over the map for 31 teams, yet somehow only goes one way for KC in the big moments (yet not favoring them early). 4/4

@RealBirdLawyer "They're going to run all over KC and harass Mahomes into oblivion with their front four" has been wrong every time except SB LV By my count KC is something like 8-1 in the playoffs when this is the narrative

@DesiMorejon @ByGerrySullivan @wingoz @BuffaloBills Agreed that the real issue is ref quality and consistency. But people definitely believe KC gets the net benefit and that's just not true by nearly every objective measure, you have to cherry-pick to find something (as this stat did) and all the anecdotes are confirmation bias.

@ByGerrySullivan @wingoz @BuffaloBills Misleading goalpost-moving. This stat conveniently chooses a starting point after KC had a record number of penalties in SB LV. It's also subject to other fallacies like dismissing the possibility that a well-coached team might be good at avoiding penalties when it matters.

@mattderrick But...Lazarus also died and came back to life? Not by his own power, but still. Whiff on the analogy here.

@RealMNchiefsfan I don't know, if anyone in my family did that I feel like that would be a Huge Ack, Man. (Yes I just forced the pun / OWG inside joke for no reason)
