Thank you @_TheTransmitter publishing our work on advantages of a transdiagnostic approach to neurodevelopment The approach facilitates access to core supports to children faster, to a greater number & quality of science for mechanisms and support @BrainMind_Usyd @westmeadkids

There is a growing debate about traits that appear across multiple neurodevelopmental conditions that aren't unique to autism. @Adam_Guastella and @Kelsie_Boulton explain how a transdiagnostic approach can lead to a more developmentally sensitive science.

Lots of digital tools promise to assist children with neurodevelopmental conditions such as autism and ADHD. But it’s hard to know what is and isn’t useful. @Adam_Guastella @Sydney_Uni

New paper: Led by @Kelsie_Boulton, we evaluate existing free digital tools (Apps & Websites) claiming to support child neurodevelopment Digital tools are often seen as solutions to resource constraints While engaging, the evidence for use was low

Our new conversation article Discusses our executive function study across all neurodevelopmental conditions since 1980 in @NatureHumBehav With more similarities than differences across all conditions (autism, ADHD, communication, Tic disorders etc), we discuss a need for a more integrated science & supports that help all children & families @Sydney_Uni @BrainMind_Usyd @westmeadkids @ConversationEDU @Kelsie_Boulton

Our new study in @NatureHumBehav examined Executive Function (EF) skills in all children with neurodevelopmental conditions (NDC), since 1980 The study quantified delay for each child NDC against a control group We also examined all data testing differences between each NDC We found: EF delay was common and similar across all NDCs Few differences overall between conditions. There were few differences on any sub-domain of EF EF delay is a common phenotype for all children with NDCs . Delay increases as more NDCs are diagnosed (with complexity of need). A more integrated science & practice for all NDCs is needed to support all children @Sydney_Uni @BrainMind_Usyd @westmeadkids
