Oklahoma State @ Iowa State pulled 2.65m viewers this weekend from the 2:30 PM Fox slot, basically the same number as USC @ Notre Dame (2.86m) on the primetime 7:30 PM NBC slot.
Remember when the PAC 12 said they didn't want to expand? 😂
OSU fans annoy me sometimes, I could go on and on about this. But if they aren’t the most resilient bunch out there, I don’t know who is. Get absolutely smashed by 42 points, then next week nearly outdraw the home team.
If there is a shred of hope, they will come.
It’s bedlam week. OU is going to the SEC, they’ve decided we aren’t good enough. I hope everyone in the state enjoys the game.
This might be the last Bedlam in STW for the foreseeable future. If you can’t stand up and scream your ass off…
GIVE YOUR TICKET TO SOMEONE WHO WILL!
Chris Lacy was invited to the NFL Combine. Not sure people understand the significance here. Lacy had a solid career, but he was the 6th leading receiver at OSU in 2017. If you're a WR and want to the go the NFL, and you don't come to OSU, that's on you.
OSU dominated OU in Bedlam Series last year (23-12). Off to a dominate start this year (11-3). Have won 7 of 8 in the series.
No football argument to fall back on this year. 🤷🏻♂️
Pretty damn impressive by entire Athletic Dept considering they’re operating on a limited budget.
The Officiating apparently was a hot topic from the OSU Texas game. So instead of listening to the talking heads who just read the box score, why don't you judge for yourself in slow motion. (with some commentary from me 😀)
Bedlam TV ratings were 6.49 million viewers. OU/TX was 5.94 million. Different time slot (11 am vs. 6:30 pm) so not perfect comparison, but 6.49 million is a huge number for OSU.
Since 2020, Oklahoma State has 14 defensive drives where they had a one score lead under 4 minutes left. (Hail Mary filtered out) In those 14 drives they’ve given up 0 points.
12-0 record
14 drives
79 plays
281 yards
3.55 y/p
0 points
4 INTs
9 Downs
1 Blocked FG
10 years ago, Geno Smith in West Virginia’s very first Big 12 game ever tied a conference record with 8 TD passes in 1 game 😳
The Mountaineers bear Baylor 70-63 at home.

This had to be a pretty big confidence boosting moment here. Can see Ika before the play basically saying bring it.
Preston Wilson has him 1 on 1 and gets the push needed for the QB sneak.
The Big 12 wanted no part of UCF/Cincy/Houston five years ago.
With Texas and OU gone, the humbling reality for the remaining 8 is they don't draw notably more eyeballs than the AAC.
A deep-dive on realignment and TV value.
Props to Mike Holder. Given the $ limitations OSU has, some ADs would sacrifice spring sports for further investment into football. If anything he’s doubled down on spring sports. Well rounded athletic dept is important.

OU was $1 billion in debt 12 months ago. Boren inflated donation numbers and Gallogly is fixing it by an increase in alumni donations and smarter spending. Every program builds off of every penny someone is willing to donate. Nice flex though.
I do find it funny that the national narrative is OU's offense is gimmicky and more finesse based. Then you actually watch them play and their OL kicks your ass on the way to 300+ yards rushing.
Weiberg: Lets make this statue a surprise reveal ok, be discreet on the delivery.
Driver: ok no problem!
(Wraps statue in Saran Wrap, loads onto open truck bed, stops for Breakfast at Braums)
👊🏻
Great fight from Oklahoma State today. Even when they were down they kept fighting! Just in general the fight from this team is impressive.

signee Nick Session (
@NicKsession_
) tells Pokes Report on the radio that he will report to Oklahoma State in January as an early enrollee
He will major in statistics and will show up with college credits already accumulated from high school
Really hoping for positive injury news on Jason Taylor. Not sure people realize the season he is having. Big 12 ranks are below:
7th in tackles/game
1st in INTs
1st in passes defended
Has been clutch too.
Inside the very 'normal' life of office worker Connor Hubbard whose daily routine TikToks have gone viral: Husband, 29, married his high school sweetheart after they studied finance together at college and are now expecting their first baby
I think Boynton needed/deserved to say this stuff, and I’m really glad he did, even if does nothing. (Which is likely)
Also props to Chad Weiberg and Dr Shrum for not only allowing it but doubling down on his statements. Not sure all leaders would be this supportive elsewhere.
Mike Boynton named names Wednesday at his media availability after

's postseason ban was upheld by the NCAA.
"Accountability is important to me," he said. "It's a pillar of our program. [Stan Wilcox] doesn't get to skirt it."
Couldn’t be more impressed by the Coaching Staffs at Tech and Baylor. The preparation was as good as it gets. This is a league you should take seriously.
OU can do what they want. I have no ill will towards them at all.
But if OSU chooses to continue an athletic relationship w/OU after the way this was handled, there is no more discussion. We are the little brother forever.
Do the right thing

We are disappointed by the lack of engagement and transparency from our colleagues at OU over the past months on a matter with serious ramifications for our state. We have historically worked together to advance our state and address issues based on a partnership built on trust.
Fun Fact, In comparison against teams on the 10/11 line, Ok State has more wins against teams in the field than - SBU, UCLA, Butler, SDSU, Prov, ASU, SU, OU, ULC, UT (tied). In case you wondered that's every single one.
Moving Jabbar Muhammad to slot Corner is quietly one of the best game specific personnel moves I’ve ever seen in Gundy’s tenure.
Props to Derek Mason and his staff.
Coaching is all about adjustments and not letting your ego impact your judgement.
Jim Knowles’ nickname is the blitz king, and OSU D blanks the Sooners in 2nd half by bringing 3 man rush and dropping 8.
Oklahoma State is the only team in the country with 3 wins over 11+ win teams. (Baylor, Alabama have 2)
Alabama will tie OSU if they beat Georgia.
Baylor also has wins over 10 win BYU and Ole Miss, so 4 of their 12 wins are over teams with 10+ wins.
I have one request
@Big12Conference
. Hopefully BYU joins the conference next year. Please "randomly" assign OU and Texas to go to Provo next year for like a 10:30 PM kickoff on a Thursday night.
Thanks
2 straight years B12 has sent 2 teams (0 are OU/TX) to NY6/CFP. (Almost 2 CFP appearances)
Those 4 teams go 3-2 including a CG appearance, with wins over Notre Dame, Michigan and Ole Miss.
National Media: league needs to watch out or they’ll turn into Mountain West.
Texas and OU are checking out of the Big 12, but numbers don’t lie.
If the league wants to be considered more like the ACC and Pac-12 than the AAC or Mountain West, it has to step up recruiting.
Just like we all predicted, OSU gives up 28 points in first half and 500 yards passing to Game Manager-ish Jack Coan, goes down by 21 then puts up 600 yards of offense and scores 30 consecutive points.
I knew this would happen weeks ago, just didn’t tweet it out.
Oklahoma State offense finishes reg season in the top 3 in the nation in Total Offense, Passing Offense, Scoring Offense, Total TDs, Points per drive, Passing Efficiency, First downs converted. That's umm...pretty good.
Seems pretty relevant that both the President and AD at OSU called the NCAA a broken system in official statements. Could have a cascading impact.
I don’t think those statements make it through the layers of PR checks unless you’re full blown finished with the NCAA.
Who was the most underrated QB for Oklahoma State in the Gundy Era?
-Daxx Garmann
-Clint Chelf
-Wes Lunt
-JW Walsh
-Alex Cate
-Bobby Reid
-Donovan Woods
-Taylor Cornelius
-Dru Brown
3rd straight week a Big 12 game on FS1 (which is generally doomsday for ratings) involving neither OU or TX eclipses 1.1M+ in viewers.
K State @ TCU 1.53m
Baylor @ WVU 1.15m
TCU @ Kansas 1.31m
Tech @ OSU 1.63m
If you're wondering what type of recruit OSU targets, Rashod Owens is it.
1. Multi-sport - basketball, high jump
2. Hybrid - RB/WR
3. Athlete - fast, fluid, rangy
4. Undeveloped - No volume until 2019
Whether you like it or not, he is the strategy.
It’s amazing when media tweet out anything about Oklahoma State, the slew of OU fans who swarm to bad mouth whatever the subject is. If OSU is your little brother and so inferior, why do you even care?
I think I have pinpointed the problems with OU's defense. On 3rd and 2 they decided to leave their Corner 9 yards off the outside WR, and let an imaginary defender cover the slot. Surprisingly, this was an easy completion to the slot WR for a 1st down.
The list of returning QBs in the Big 12 next year is ridiculous. OU should be set with Rattler or another transfer.
Brock Purdy
Max Duggan

Alan Bowman

2020 might be a 2008 like year in Big 12.
