a personal update: in January, I'm moving to Yale to join @MCDB_Yale and to open my lab in the @WuTsaiYale Institute! We will investigate multicellular self-organization using synbio tools to read and write developmental signals in stem cell models.

@jessedmarshall @cziscience It varies. For the in-focus branches, the spatial resolution is < 1 micron, for out-of-focus branches it's worse, varying with the size of the defocused PSF. But it turns out that the voltage varies gradually over space, so low resolution recordings are ok.

@emukamel @cziscience Yeah, we averaged lots of trials (~50, if I recall correctly), but we checked that all the trials we averaged had similar propagation motifs and spike timings.
