, I was happy to announce more than $3 million to make climate resilience and energy efficiency upgrades to affordable homes right here at Mei Wah Village in Boston. This funding is part of a larger investment of $279 million for communities across America.
The Biden-Harris Administration is using all the tools in our toolbox to support the construction and renovation of new homes for Americans. It was great to be in Charlotte, NC to meet with public housing residents and leaders from across the country and reaffirm this commitment.
At HUD, we proudly celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, where we recognize all that Hispanic and Latino communities have done in shaping our country.
HUD continues to dedicate our efforts to advance equity in a way that delivers quality and affordable living for all.
The Biden-Harris Administration is laser-focused on bringing down housing costs for people across the United States.
That is why, today, I announced an additional $100 million in funding through a HUD program we call PRO Housing—because that’s what we’re all about.
This week, I had the pleasure of joining the community in DeKalb County, GA for the grand opening of 100 new homes for seniors.
Through creative solutions, developers were able to turn a former GM plant into a beacon of hope for seniors in this community.

NEW: HUD awards $3.4 million to Public Housing Agencies to provide housing assistance to young adults exiting foster care.
This funding was awarded through HUD’s Foster Youth to Independence (FYI) Initiative.
In Philly, I visited the Janney Apartment, which offers affordable housing for seniors, people who experienced homelessness, & low-income families.
With the help of $3M in HUD funds, this project shows how federal funding can be used to provide safe, quality homes for Americans.
It’s clear that rising insurance costs are harmful to homeowners, renters, housing providers, and entire communities. Our HUD team took a historic step to bring stakeholders together, so we can determine best solutions, protect the people we serve, & lower housing costs for all.

That is why today I announced that HUD is granting $48 million to fund counseling services across America that give individuals and families vital education and resources to inform decisions about their housing needs and opportunities.
In 34 years, the American Disabilities Act has helped countless Americans access resources across the federal government.
It is my expectation that as we do our work, we do so by continuing to emphasize the importance of equitable access, inclusion and dignity.
At HUD, we understand the impact of housing on a person’s health.
This funding will ensure people with HIV have permanent, stable, and supportive housing so they are able to focus on their health and well-being and not feel the stress of housing insecurity.
The funding announced today will allow local organizations across the country to provide critical assistance for Americans living with HIV and AIDS and ensure stable housing for those at risk of homelessness.

are making $78 million available to help secure permanent and sustainable housing for Veterans and their families.
The funding is available to Public Housing Agencies across the country.
Every resident deserves to feel safe in their home.
The Capital Fund Emergency Safety and Security Program provides critical resources to enhance the protection of residents, safeguard public spaces, and respond swiftly when they need help.
Today, HUD announced that it is awarding $10 million to 65 Public Housing Agencies in 32 states across the country to make needed capital improvements in public housing developments that will enhance safety and security for residents.
Sheila Jackson Lee was a fighter, and a champion of the people. She fought for economic justice and she fought to bring critical resources to her community. She will be remembered as a pioneer and a leader.

HUD works daily to deliver affordable housing to those who need it most.
It's always a pleasure to host Tribal leaders for our Tribal Intergovernmental Advisory Committee meeting.
This one was notable because HUD recently granted $1.1 billion to address housing challenges in Indian Country—the largest ever funding investment in Indian housing.
After wildfires hit Maui last year, people’s homes were destroyed, and people’s lives were disrupted. Immediately after, HUD got to work to help people recover.
This includes providing support for people who live in HUD subsidized homes and for people who were homeless.
A year after the tragic wildfires on Maui, Hawaiʻi, HUD and the Biden-Harris Administration remain committed to rebuilding Maui communities and helping families recover from disaster.
Our federal family continues to coordinate to ensure the long-term recovery of survivors.
