It was nice to find lots of Dune Helleborine (Epipactis dunensis) near Warrington today. With some still supporting a single flower..

Also found a colony at the edge of the roundabout at Colchester from the A120 to the A1232. A new developing roadside halophyte possibly..

A Grey bush Cricket in the hand is worth two porpoises offshore. Or something like that. Both were nice at Shingle Street today.

Roman Snail surveying in near perfect conditions today, rainy and warm, in preparation for another licence. Romans were active, egg laying and risking their lives.. all in a snails day.... @abrehartecology

Botanical surveying again in South Essex. Oxybasis chenopodoides (very small) and Trifolium resupinatum were interesting new finds. But it was the X Agropogon littoralis that was best for me, multiple new plants.. and a new patch of Bromus madritensis, which was nice. @BSBIbotany
