GOVERNOR UBA SANI’s JANUARY 2025 IN VIEW Governor Uba Sani held several strategic engagement meetings with diplomats, heads of federal government agencies and parastatals, security officials, religious and traditional leaders amongst others. He also moderated a meeting of the NGF and the Presidential Committee on Tax Reform while he spoke at various functions on topics bothering security, agriculture as well as gender and financial inclusion. Highlight of the month was Governor Uba Sani being awarded “GOVERNOR OF THE YEAR” at the ThisDay Awards held in Lagos. This is due to his significant strides in tackling insecurity in Kaduna State, restoring peace in troubled communities and promoting unity in the state.

In yesterday’s interview with Channels TV, February 7, 2025, Barrister Kenneth Okwankwo, a prominent member of the Labour Party and a vocal figure in the opposition, praised His Excellency Senator Uba Sani of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for his commitment to fostering an all-inclusive government in Kaduna State. Okwankwo highlighted that Sani’s administration has made significant strides in bridging divides across religious and ethnic lines, a feat that has been pivotal in restoring peace to a region that has historically faced challenges related to sectarian violence and ethnic tensions. The barrister emphasised that this inclusive approach has not only enhanced governance but has also created a sense of belonging among the diverse populations of Kaduna.

As someone who fought for the return of democracy, Governor @ubasanius is taking all necessary steps to address the ongoing power outage caused by the labor unions' industrial action at the Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company (KAEDCO). The Deputy Governor, Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, along with other senior government officials, yesterday met with the management of KAEDCO and representatives of the National Union of Electricity Employees. At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties agreed that electricity would be restored while further negotiations continued. Unfortunately, it is disheartening to see the union taking a different stance now. But I am sure, our Governor will not relent until he solves this problem.

Earlier today, Governor Uba Sani had a strategic engagement with the President of the Africa Development Bank (AfDB), Dr. Akinwumi Adesina in Abidjan, Cotè D’Ivoire. The discussions focused on agriculture financing and the takeoff of the Special Agro Processing Zone (SAP-Z), a partnership between the Kaduna State Government (KDSG) and the African development Bank (AfDB). The Special Agricultural Processing Zone will be provided with necessary infrastructure (land, roads, power, and security). The SAP-Z will offer a bigger market for farmers and serve as a magnet for increased production and greater value-addition for agricultural produce. He also used the opportunity of the meeting to wish Dr. Akinwumi Adesina a happy 65th birthday.
