I am honored to announce my appointment as a member of the newly established International Advisory Body for Submarine Cable Resilience. This body, established by the International Telecommunication Union @ITU and the International Cable Protection Committee (ICPC), unites governments, regulatory authorities, and industry leaders to enhance the safety, redundancy, and protection of submarine cables, which carry over 99% of the worldโs international data traffic. This selection underscores Somaliaโs growing role in global efforts to safeguard critical digital infrastructure amidst increasing cyber threats and geopolitical challenges. Representing Somalia, I am proud to contribute to strengthening the resilience of submarine cables, a vital backbone of global digital communication, and advancing Somaliaโs digital transformation. Somaliaโs inclusion in this esteemed initiative reaffirms our commitment to engaging in international collaborations that promote global connectivity. I look forward to working with global stakeholders to protect and enhance the resilience of these essential systems, ensuring their role in supporting the worldโs digital future.
