#AhmadShahMassoud With age comes wisdom borne of scars, humility shaped by defeats, and cynicism rooted in misplaced trust. The boundless optimism and naive delusions of my 20s have gradually given way to the measured sobriety of my 30s. Indeed, I’m often struck by how far I’ve come and how different I am from the wide-eyed dreamer optimist I once was… Yet, amidst all this change or growth, (call it what you will) one constant endures — my unwavering respect for Ahmad Shah Massoud, the man, the character, the politician, the hero. Ahmad Shah Massoud — the sole bridge that connects me to the folly and hopeful spirit of my 20s. “Ahmad Istalifi”

@JackRourke15 Iconic. Shame all these unique stadiums are getting replaced by homogeneous and characterless new age designs

As it has evolved, a Shadibaz is a practitioner of Shadibazi—a performative, insincere, and opportunistic approach to politics and anti-Talibanism. Their engagement is driven more by personal gain, theatrics, and self-serving alliances than by genuine conviction or principle. This is why their opposition to anti-Taliban resistance is often louder and more persistent than their opposition to the Taliban itself. To a Shadibaz, the Taliban’s primary offenses are their rejection of the tricolor 🇦🇫 flag and their dismissal of Shadibaz Daddy Ashraf Ghani. Issues like women’s rights, democracy, and governance are secondary concerns at best. Visually, they can often be identified by their fervent opposition to the Taliban resistance, their unwavering attachment to the 🇦🇫 flag, and their glorification of the runaway president—often paired with a more South Asian aesthetic than the rest of Afghanistan.

@7uloxi You know it — It’s a combination of provinces which you have cleverly not put together.

Those who know me understand that few are greater cynics than I, and none are more steadfast in opposing the old Ashraf Ghani regime’s Shadibazi politics. That said, I take Habib Khan—and a few others like @kuchiafghan—seriously and genuinely. They represent a much-needed paradigm shift within their constituency. Whether this shift is a fleeting social media posture or a deeper, empathy-driven transformation remains to be seen. Time will tell. My challenge now to my own people — how will you reciprocate? From my experience in too many messy corporate and contractual disputes, I’ve learned that absolute agreement is not always necessary. Sometimes, alignment of intent, sincerity, and the ability to recognise the boundaries of disagreement manifested in -HUMILITY & EMPATHY - are enough to commence a constructive compromise. Time will tell…
Many Pashtuns support Afghanistan’s national men’s cricket team and the Taliban—not for cricket or Sharia, but out of ethnic loyalty. Both symbolize Pashtun dominance, reinforcing ethnic hegemony. In Afghanistan, politics revolve around ethnic identity over ideology.

The wait and training for this is more torturous than the altitude! #countdown
