A little light paleontological reading for your weekend. Rare discovery: a pterosaur fossil with teeth marks on the neck. What bit into it? Something with conical teeth similar to a crocodile's. See examples of such teeth and flying reptiles at AZMNH.

An atlatl is an ingenious device used to launch spears or darts tipped with stone projectile points at great velocity. The thrower's arm and the atlatl work together using the principles of leverage to increase speed, distance, and accuracy and were vital tools for survival.

Nancy first walked through our doors when this building was a police station, visiting her dad on duty. Years later, she brought her kids—who later brought theirs—and now, a new generation follows. Four generations, one museum, endless memories. #AZMNH #FamilyTradition

Where in AZMNH? This cotton plant is growing at the museum. Cotton isn't native to Arizona but has played a part in our economy and culture since its introduction in 1885. It's part of the 'Five C's, which you can learn about during your next visit to AZMNH.
