So my daughters 5th bday is today. A few months ago we went to the local guitar shop as I needed to buy some picks. She saw this black and white mini strat and begged for it. It was $200. Not a Fender brand. Nice looking guitar though. I told her the old line “not today baby.

Guitar thought: social media is awesome for guitarists. Social media is also a detriment to aspiring guitarists. Like anything else when it comes to social media and “influencers”, guitar influencers can and often discourage new players. New players see these well curated videos.

Get a 2-3 year old model with low mileage. With Tesla, the updates keep your car “up to date”. The model year is.

I have been playing guitar for 3.5 years religiously. I dont know a single cover song. It isnt my goal to play others’ songs. I use guitar to play whatever I feel like playing at the time. Thus, I gravitate heavily to the blues. I have learned songs. But they arent memorized. I.

Ok…Gibson’s are expensive. Gretsch is a good price and a beautiful axe with the bigsby but not made in America. Is the juice worth the squeeze for a Gibson Les Paul for someone that does not currently own one? I ponied up $1,700 for my Strat Am Pro II. Major difference between.

I practiced guitar for 3.5 hours yesterday. Heavy emphasis on minor key chord voicings. A lot of fun but gotta know where are on the fret board. Just takes practice and effort. Like most things. Nothing easy. Just work.
