@FvtGpss18921 I’m just saying that fiat money will continue depreciating. Whether one chooses to keep one’s savings in gold, bitcoin, or whatever asset that’s another question.

@ThomasBalmesAq That’s great to hear man! This idea that Latin is only for the theologians and canon lawyers needs to die. Every Catholic should know some Latin.

@Gxndisalvus Esta lista me parece buena:
Wow, what a terrible list. I hate the way that academics do literally anything. Here is my list: Begin with St. Thomas’ (maybe) guide to studying, his Letter to Brother John. Then, we will be introduced to some central concepts of natural philosophy in his De principiis naturæ. Then, we will begin our introduction to his theology (which is mostly basic catechesis) in his expositions of the Lord’s Prayer, Hail Mary, Apostle’s Creed, and Ten Commandments. Then, we are ready for some works that go beyond mere catechesis. First, his work On the Articles of the Faith and the Sacraments of the Church introduces the basic controversies of theology. Second, his work On the Reasons of the Faith provides a basic introduction to “Apologetics.” Third, his works Hic est Liber and Rigans Montes provide a basic introduction to St. Thomas’ theology of scripture. Then, we are ready for some spiritual theology, i.e., On the Perfection of the Spiritual Life. Lastly, we reach the crown jewel of St. Thomas’ “easy works,” i.e., the Compendium Theologiae.. Before this, read the introduction to the Summa Contra Gentiles (Chapters 1-9) in order to understand basics of fundamental theology. One can also read De Ente et Essentia for an introduction to St. Thomas' metaphysics...or, at least, a place to start (which was written as a beginner work, but some find it difficult). After this point, we are basically ready for anything else, scripture commentaries are a good place to start. The Summa Theologica has be read after this with the aid of John of St. Thomas’ Isagogue.

@KanekoaTheGreat Agree with the opposition to excessive government spending but equating government spending with inflation is incorrect. Inflation the resulting depreciation of a currency after the money supply is increased.

@SpeedWatkins Evil as a privation of the good implies the existence of the good, which implies the existence of the subsistent Good. It’s an excellent philosophical argument. That’s why St Thomas, who was very much against proposing bad arguments for God, formulates it in SCG.
