With this result across the country we really could start to fix the NHS. Well done to everyone who has made this happen.
We’re proud of how our #OmnesHealthcare supported by the @live_evergreen app, managed demand over holiday period. Patients received timely care, with 6,378 calls handled and an average wait time of just 2 minutes and 13 seconds! 💚 #PrimaryCare #HealthcareInnovation

@AndyBurnhamGM @G_Obertron Andy , we do need your help. It needs a complete rethink. It’s great to have 4 carriages on the Blackburn to Manchester line when there were 2 but as well as the unreliability, which IS awful, the capacity is still insufficient. They also need to run more frequently.

With rising mental illness in our youths, neglecting youth clubs neglects the mental health of the nation. These young people do grow up. Apart from the misery this causes it is costing us dearly as mental health services spiral out of control from the rise in demand.
If Salford Lads Club, one of the most well known youth clubs in the country is staring down the barrel of closure, it should be a canary in the coal mine. What little is being done now isn’t working. Young people need a place to go, things to do and amazing youth workers. As a nation, we’re scandalously failing them. Youth infrastructure needs an urgent, radical rethink.

We need to embrace the disrupters! True change in healthcare won’t come from within the system—too many vested interests. It’s time to challenge the status quo and rethink how we manage #NHS health records and wellness for all. #HealthInnovation #ExponentialThinking #Disruption #PatientEmpowerment #NHSFuture #PatientRights #DigitalHealth #DataOwnership #FutureOfHealthcare

It's official — @oasis are reuniting! 🎸 Beyond the hype, there's a fascinating angle: Could their comeback help with #AlzheimersPrevention? 🧠 Music stimulates the brain, improving #CognitiveHealth, especially as we age. Whether you're a fan or not, their music will get us talking and moving next summer. 🕺💃 Got a ticket? Dance in the crowd. No ticket? Dance at home. Let's celebrate the power of music! 🎶 #OasisReunion #MusicAndHealth #BrainHealth #LiveMusic #AgeingWell

Did you see the #BBC report on the #Tsimane tribe? This Amazon community is defying received wisdom on ageing. A typical 75-year-old Tsimane has the arteries of a 50-year-old American. No heart disease, obesity, or hypertension! If we can unlock their secrets, we could revolutionise health worldwide. 🌍 Of course, the Tsimane is one part of the equation. We also need to look at ourselves. Check out our Evergreen Life app to get your wellness score and contribute to research that could change the future of ageing. #Longevity #Health #Wellness #HealthyAging #Research

🔍 When it comes to reversing Type 2 Diabetes, the headlines can be misleading. A 900-calorie liquid diet may show short-term Diabetes benefits. But it’s an approach that’s never going to be popular (it’s too stringent) or sustainable. @lowcarbGP Dr David Unwin’s research highlights a better path: a high-fibre, low-carb diet. We need to change the narrative and focus on what truly works for long-term health! #DiabetesCare #LowCarbDiet #HealthAndWellness

Weight loss jab Ozempic might be grabbing the headlines. But with limited safety data and high addiction risk, shouldn’t we really be focussing on effective, safe long-term solutions? I’d like to see the new government have a clear strategy when it comes to tackling obesity. One that goes to the root of the issue, rather than one that looks for a quick fix. We need better food regulation and education. #WeightLoss #Ozempic #HealthAndWellness #Metformin

Have you seen the news? GPs across England will start capping the number of patients they are willing to see after the British Medical Association announced an immediate work-to-rule. I am sure there will be fierce debates about the rights and wrongs of this action but there is no doubt our GPs have a massive workload and we currently have a capacity issue. Some of the solutions are closer to home than we sometimes like to think. My view is that we ALL have a part to play in helping to lighten this load. That’s what Evergreen Life is all about. We exist to empower individuals to take control of their own health. Our app gives people greater knowledge and understanding about how food, fitness and happiness impact on us being well. In doing so, we can take some of the strain off the NHS. If you can manage your diabetes, or reduce your blood pressure, and lose weight, you’ll be healthier, live longer and happier years and reduce the demand in the system. For me, this needs to be part of the conversation about GPs’ finite resources. If we all took advantage of the wealth of research, data and technology tools that are available then the system pressures would inevitably be reduced. Secondly, another key to supporting our GPs will come via better use of data and technology. For example, we know that some 20% of people go to GP practices have a dermatology issue. At Evergreen Life we are rolling out a service which will mean the vast majority of these people won’t need a face-to-face appointment. #HealthcareReform #GPWorkload #EmpowermentInHealth #SelfCareMatters

I’ll keep saying it… People Powered Health. I believe everyone should own and control their personal health record. Using an untethered PHR means the patient can keep their record complete and separate from systems other than just their GP, as well as add their own records. If only PHRs were rolled out on a national level, then last week’s IT crisis may well have been less of a disaster across healthcare providers. But it wasn’t all bad news. As many GPs on Friday morning struggled to see data with EMIS not working from the CrowdStrike issue, patients using our Evergreen Life app COULD show the doctor their own copy. They had their PHRs literally in the palm of their hands. GPs across 5 of our Primary Care centres who use our Evergreen Life service were still able to receive patient requests whilst EMIS was down and make real-time patient notes that were able to be transferred quickly and easily to EMIS once back up and running. This way of working delivers accuracy, coordination of care and patient engagement. And with Evergreen Life stats standing at 99.999% availability, our system is reliable, even in a crisis. #NHS

Evergreen manages 6 GP practices and use EMIS we have been able to run a normal service as using Evergreen software gives us the capability of consultation that are kept in a queue which will populate EMIS once it comes back on line. Having the patient with their copy of the medical record also means we can see the medical records including blood results up to where EMIS failed.

It may sound harsh but … Why are we so surprised that we have a problem? Covid has affected the lifestyle of our children and young people so much. Our children had a year or so stuck at home, not with their friends. And young people at university were not at their lessons and amongst others. The result has been minimal community engagement, less physical activity and reduced job prospects – combined with raised expectations. With more now being online, this has certainly continued thereafter. It’s not just our mental health provision that’s in crisis – however let’s also recognise that those experiencing mental health problems are more likely to suffer from other diseases as well. And the answer to all this? Well, it might not solely lie with the NHS. Obviously, it’s essential that we provide appropriate treatment for those suffering and on waiting lists. However, we also need to pull together as a society to create the societal change needed to prevent the decline in the health of our young people in the first place. Not only by supporting healthier diets and more active lifestyles, but also by establishing more community activities and friendships. Of course, the government can support this – by supporting youth provision. I was a founder Patron of Onside Youth Zones and Evergreen has been a founder Patron for the new Horizon Youth Zone in Grimsby. From this I have learned that having a person to know, a place to go and something to do makes a massive difference to the health and future for the youth of today. Together we can make a difference. #Healthcare #NHS

Few would disagree that our NHS is on its knees and needs fundamental reform. What’s important now, is how we get to the crux of the challenge and identify potential solutions. As @wesstreeting eloquently puts it – diagnosing the problem before we write the prescription. Lord Darzi's 2018 report, "Better Health and Care for All: A 10-Point Plan for the 2020s", highlights his expertise and visionary approach to healthcare reform. Known for his impactful 2008 report, Lord Darzi demonstrates his ability to address the critical challenges facing the NHS. His emphasis on radical simplification, a shift from a "diagnose and treat" model to a "predict and prevent" one, increased funding, and adopting technological innovation, resonates with Evergreen Life's mission to empower individuals with their health data to live healthy happy lives. By collaborating, we can drive the transformation necessary to secure a sustainable and person-centric future for the NHS. #Healthcare #NHS #Innovation #DigitalHealth #EvergreenLife #LordDarz
