Excited to share my new report on how people are organising for the environment in Iraq and the challenges they face amidst an increasingly shrinking civic space in the country
In this compelling study, Taif Alkhudary (@ALKTaif) , doctoral student at the University of Cambridge, examines the rise of environmental activism in Iraq amid increasing authoritarianism and climate challenges. Alkhudary explores the struggles of coalition-building, the risks activists face, and the challenges posed by political and corporate interests. She calls for sustainable funding, stronger diplomatic efforts, and a systemic approach to tackling Iraq’s environmental crises. Read the paper: #Iraq #ClimateAction
