There is no proof that the term ‘CNY’ appeared before ‘LNY,’ so calling the New Year that is celebrated based on the lunisolar calendar ‘LNY’ is the correct term. This is not a case of name change.

Other countries that observe different versions of LNY can also nominate their own holidays in the future. LNY remains the correct term for global use.
