Just a friendly reminder to adjust your car clock for daylight savings this weekend. The controls should be located near the indicator. Actually, never mind...no one seems to know where that is anyway.
ACT Policing is aware of social media posts circulating about campers being permitted to stay at Exhibition Park in Canberra (EPIC) until Tuesday. This information is incorrect.
Campers currently staying at EPIC must leave the facility by today.
Don’t forget clocks go back an hour this weekend. You don’t want to be too early for that important appointment with your living room!

Do not drive down to ACT's southern suburbs and stop on the side of the road to take photos of the bushfire. Police have had to actively move on people and cars this evening so they don't hinder operations and clog roads. You are creating unnecessary risk.
#StopDisasterTourism
ACT Policing is working with EPIC management to notify campers of the need to vacate the site by the end of the weekend to allow for preparations ahead of the Royal Canberra Show. People who remain in EPIC after Sunday may be considered trespassing. More:

A P-plater’s licence was suspended after he returned a positive breath test of 0.189 on Wednesday.
First of all: The legal limit for P-platers is zero.
Secondly: We’re still out there conducting breath tests.
In conclusion: Don’t drink & drive.
Thanks for coming to our TED Talk.
About 1:30pm today police were called to the Canberra Airport following reports of gunshots in the main terminal building. Shortly after, one person was taken into custody and a firearm was recovered. There is no immediate threat to public safety. Details:
Due to the South Coast bushfires, evacuees are heading to Canberra which will see an increase of cars on ACT roads. Please obey the road rules, drive to the conditions, take regular breaks, and be patient and alert. Let’s work together as a community to ensure everyone is safe.
Today, we remember police officers who have been killed in the line of duty.
We honour their commitment, bravery and ultimate sacrifice.

✔️ Plan ahead.
✔️ Don't drink and drive - arrange a lift or catch public transport.

We’ve seen fewer headlights on this morning than successful MAFS marriages. We’re in for a lot of rain over the next couple of days. Be an expert driver, put those headlights on and slow down!

A reminder that double demerits are now in effect. Just to make it extra clear we’ve translated it for those of you who don’t speak ‘Strayan. Full details here:
Throughout May, Sergeant Dave Reis set himself a target to run a half marathon every day for Run4Blue, an event which supports various police legacies. Amongst his busy schedule and shift work, Dave exceeded his target and ran an impressive 707.8kms in 31 days. What a champion!
What do you reckon has a better chance of happening: Your favourite GoT character surviving this season or Canberrans using their indicators? 🤔

We remember the lives & homes lost 16 years ago today, when the ACT was hit by the most destructive bushfires the territory has seen. One of the things we love about Canberra is our community spirit. This shone through when we saw everyone band together to protect each other.
A 20-year-old man has been charged following a number of deliberately lit grass fires in Curtin this morning. Police remind the community that anyone lighting a fire during total fire ban periods can face $32K in fines and or imprisonment for up to 2yrs.
This morning we had the honour of being part of the Bungendore Firies Fridge convoy to the National Museum of Australia. The famous fridge kept fire fighters hydrated during the horrific bushfires. Thanks to all emergency services members & volunteers who kept the community safe.
A 30-year-old Victorian man has been arrested in relation to the fire at Old Parliament House last week. He has been charged with arson and damaging Commonwealth property. Taskforce investigations under Operation Pike are ongoing. More:
Today, we remember our fallen police brothers & sisters who made the ultimate sacrifice & died in the line of duty. 4 touchstones were added to the National Police Memorial wall to commemorate the

We ran into some firefighters from across the ditch earlier this week. The team from New Zealand were in Canberra having a day off before heading back out to help fight the fires. We thank them so much for their efforts! Legends!
Your safety is our highest priority and we have been working closely with the
@ACT_ESA
and doorknocking with the
@AustralianArmy
and
@ACT_SES
to ensure the community is prepared for the bushfire conditions.
Stay safe, stay informed, look after each other and be prepared.

Can we get a round of a-paws for police doggo Hayley, who retired last wk after an exceptional 7yr career with her handler, LSC Simon Aldridge. The duo won the Aus & NZ Police Dog Trials in 2016 for the “Narcotic Detection Team” & detected large amounts of drugs across the ACT.
We have received reports of 2 sets of English thieves who have committed robberies in Liverpool & Amsterdam in the last 48 hrs. We believe they are heading to Madrid, & are seeking a high profile piece of silverware.

This driver was doing 151km/h in an 80km/h zone. That’s 70km/h over the speed limit! When you convert that into a penalty it equals 6 points and a $1,841 fine. Just because there are less cars on the road doesn’t mean you can drive unsafely. We will catch you.
