@anti_realism_ also, the thread spiralled from one of your mutuals quoting this, some tweet saying "yk what hitler also did?", quite literally in response to an indian pissed that vegans are moralizing caste discrimination in India

@anti_realism_ your example just constructed a human that is one in all but name. as somebody else pointed out, maybe you were just trying to meet him half way. but you're still operating on the same moral framework on harm based suffering centric to humans

@anti_realism_ genuinely not trying to be provocative or bad faith here, your moral arbitration with a hypothetical that incredulous is focused on humanizing animals because your morality is hinged on harm to humans too, the exact same as aadhavans.
what's funny is this exact exercise reverts back to this. your hypothetical is humanizing animals to make the assertion that harming then is wrong because they are human like. we're going in circles and now debating definitions

@1avenza I'm not falling for this slippery slope where you suddenly say that justifying meat eating means justifying harvesting children and disabled people. cognitive processes are not equal to cognitive ability. we share the former with disabled people and humans, not with animals.

@1avenza dude, the "trait" of being human is hinged on biological processes that makes humans human.

@1avenza what is the point of this discourse if it's essentially just a return to the affirmation that harming a human is bad? JS Mill asserted this 160 years ago.

@1avenza this isn't the "entailments of the question" you've constructed a human and named him an alien.
