The problem is there's profit in war. You can make a fast buck from genocide. Stealing land from the weak is easy. But it's a short term profit. After a generation you have to pay the tax in blood. War returns as a recurring charge. Dedicated to @POTUS & @IsraeliPM

@donlav @RobGilbey @BerryCathal The problem is that politicians see no votes in defence and security because they've hidden the necessity of defence from the people. Ignorance of defence and security is a major blockage.

@donlav @RobGilbey @BerryCathal Not more external consultants, please, Don. By all means recommission Mr. Berry and exploit our partnerships with the armed forces of other nations. Offer commissions to skilled "foreign" veterans to train and strategise. But please no more external consultants. 💰💰💰

@mickthehack How much of that pressure comes from governments who are promoting their defence industries? We need to defend Ireland, but we also need to resist the hard sales tactics and buy smart and sustainable. External pressure should not be the motivation to defend what is ours

@ReginaDo Jeez Regina, the USA, UK, and France, are also permanent members with a veto. I think you'll agree that two of those have a much longer record of interfering with our sovereignty and security. Stop turning a blind eye to the side that let's you put your hand in their pocket.

@NiallJournal_ie @thejournal_ie There's very little confidence in @MichealMartinTD to deliver on defence or defend neutrality. The fact that he's still talking about external "pressure" rather than expressing any personal ambition to address the requirements is an indictment of FFG on Defence.
