Very appreciative of this partnership with @enbridgegas and @FMPFSC . These alarms will be used in high risk areas of our community. Thank you!
Thank you to @enbridgegas for the donation of 246 combination smoke & carbon monoxide alarms. The donation is part of Safe Community Project Zero - public education campaign with @FMPFSC which will see 14,500 alarms donated to 75 Ontario communities this year #ENBFuelingFutures

Be on the lookout for us in your neighbourhood! It’s fire prevention week. “Make smoke alarms work for you” by installing and maintaining working smoke alarms! It’s the law!
It's #FirePreventionWeek and this year's theme is "Make smoke alarms work for you". Welland Fire wants to remind you that only working smoke alarms can save lives. If you see our crews out in your neighborhood this week doing public education, please come say "Hi".

A fitting and solemn tribute. Craig was a funny and kind person. A pleasure to be around. A great fire service officer and an outstanding human being. My thoughts are with his family.
On May 21, 2023, @WellandFire Captain Craig Bowman passed away due to occupational cancer. Today, Craig’s name was added to the IAFF Memorial in Colorado to be honoured among the names of other fallen firefighters who gave their lives in the line of duty.

Incredibly proud of our team for their valiant efforts that day. Excellent situational awareness! Our team operates with professionalism each day achieving incredible things, but it’s important to recognize exceptional and courageous conduct while serving our city. Well done !
Today we recognize 4 of our firefighters for saving the life of a person in distress. The crew was travelling between stations when they saw a person in crisis & stopped to help. They acted quickly & were able to save the person from the water & get them the care that was needed

We welcome many students to our city during the school year and they’re a big part of our community. Students: take fire safety into consideration when choosing where to live. Have a great and successful year!
You put a lot of time & effort into choosing which college or university to attend. Make sure you put just as much care into choosing a safe place to live while attending school. If you have any questions or concerns regarding a property in Welland call us @ 905-735-1700 x2488

Install them!
Have you ever wondered what it would be like if airline pilots taught fire safety? We didn't think so, but we made a video about it anyway. Please enjoy.🤣 Install smoke alarms in accordance with manufacturer's instructions. #workingsmokealarmssavelives

@jen_keesmaat Jennifer in 2003 similar situation happened at many universities in Ontario during the “double cohort”, whereas the last ever OAC year entered school with the gr 12 cohort behind them.

Our fire prevention team continues their important work in our city. We educate and inform owners and occupants of their responsibilities. Sometimes, despite this, some choose to remain non-compliant. Our staff are committed to making buildings in our city fire safe! It works!

Thinking of his family and friends, both within WFES and in the Niagara community.
Craig Bowman was a dedicated firefighter, an outstanding Captain, and an even better person. He's missed by all who knew him. Craig passed away from occupational cancer on 5/21/2023. He gave his life serving our community & his sacrifice will not be forgotten. Our brother forever
