tldr; pinned comic. it's hard but quitting art made me fall in love with life outside of productivity, achievement, perfection. there is nothing you need to be doing except walk outside and hang out. i have observed a new freedom i created for myself, allowing myself to fail.

(art school trauma talk!) .talking with a friend, realizing i was bullied into quitting art school is still a hard pill to swallow. it's really infuriating having my dreams crushed when i was an extremely hard-working 17yo who had invested everything to join that school.

but that's okay. because in those two years after i quit school, i got into embroidery, acting, dance, photography, bouldering, reading, despite all the trauma. worked unrelated jobs and paid for my top surgery myself. connected with others outside of art. and it's been good.
