@badsport0
Also people reading fanon instead of canon isn’t actually harming comics really. That’s like saying people who only watch movies are affecting tv. They’re just… not consuming it. Lack of engagement isn’t active harm. Dc official shows have harmed characterizations more tbh
why is there a trend in fanon fans sexualizing minors. DO YOU KNOW WHAT HONEY TRAP MISSIONS ARE? and you admitted this was early in their relationship; Tim would've been 13.
had to add on: even if it IS a joke (people are saying it is) it still spreads misinformation and not everyone (for example: myself) will know its a joke. if i knew it was a joke i wouldnt have made the tweet. ysee where im going with this?
"He's allergic to bread," Jason says, and the words tangle up in his throat with a sudden surge of dread. "Bruce, Tim is allergic to bread. Why the hell did he-"
He stops. There's no chance Jack and Janet hadn't noticed it;
@DeReal615

cultural? you mean how she’s now the reason that racism against romani people and anti semitism is normalized on social media, as people bank on the fact that she’s a woman to promote her when she’s whitewashed???
THIS is what made her want to be a hero. Not Clint. I need to reiterate. She did NOT have a goal of being hawkeye in the start. Her goal was to protect people. She doesn’t just grab Hawkeye’s bow, and the fact that she did isn’t even mentioned deliberately on panel.
i know she's like mid jump or smth but the height difference means everything to me. tim's stupid slicked up spikey hair... taller steph... oh... oh...
@spidermyth
yes good job common sense but that is not The Point. it shows that they’re trying to pin themselves as closer to a 616 comics adaptation when they’re really nothing like it. im not saying they’re in the same universe, i’m saying they’re trying to be too much like it.
damian wayne couldn’t tie shoes until he was 12 just saying !!! that boy is a VELCRO kid. those high laces on his boots? decoration. there’s a secret zipper on the side.
sometimes i wonder if meghan fitzmartin forgot the whole tim drake "do i quit being a vigilante and go to school...?" arc exists
HE DOES NOT WANT TO BE BATMAN STOP MAKING HIM SAY IT HE DIDNT EVEN WANT TO BE ROBIN
Heinberg’s obvious use for this scene was to show her bounce back. To show her heroics. Because of that scene, Kate trained. This is why she first started to learn to fight.
She wanted to be prepared, and she wanted to make sure what happened to her happened to no one else.
I’m going to preface this with a trigger warning for SA, especially the SA of a teen.
I am also going to add that i personally have had my encounter with CSA. So be nice. This is important to me. kate is important to me. I am also willing to have a genuine convo about this!
A page later, Kate is SAd by a random man, showing the idea that humanity is inherently evil. No matter who you help, how good of a human you are, something horrible can still happen to you.
Heinberg would not write this in if it didn’t mean anything.
story. Kate is always concerned with helping others, and it’s clear that it’s one of her main motivations behind becoming Hawkeye. She wants to help people and do good.
Let’s start with Kate’s ORIGINAL backstory. I emphasize the word original because there’s a retcon I’ll get to later.
Kate was a ~15 year old girl in Young Avengers Special (2006), which was an intro issue for each character and their respective backgrounds, away from the rest
Now that we know Kate’s main motivation behind becoming Hawkeye and how empowering her story is to SA survivors around the globe, let’s look at this retcon from All-New Hawkeye V2 (2016).
an SA survivor wanting to make sure what happened to her happens to nobody else, following the character’s innate trait of caring for people
This trait Kate has in the YA Special isn’t shown in ANH at all. In fact, her flashbacks show her being bitter to everybody in her diary.
hey bragging about your plans to 🏴☠️ the mcu israel propaganda ass cap4 movie is NOT a flex btw !!
we will not be watching and when i say that i mean i am NOT watching.
While I do think a story of finding yourself and what to do with your life is important, I think that the story of her being a fangirl and being inspired by Hawkeye and not wanting to be a “boring little rich girl” is so much less impactful than
ALSO: yelena is NOT canon aro/ace. id LOVE for her to be aro/ace (/gen) but its never actually been written in or confirmed. IIRC, a writer was asked about the headcanon and they said they liked the idea. Never actually confirmed it. Lets not give Marvel credit where its not due!
of the team.
Her portion starts with painting Kate as a strong willed, compassionate, yet witty character who has “never been comfortable” with her family’s wealth, and she says that from the start. She already has her sense of humor developed two panels deep into her flashback
Not only is Kate’s original story empowering, but it’s a story that serves as representation for SA survivors like myself. Showing that we aren’t weak, that we can fight back and be strong, like a superhero.
@wallywestirl
hey did u know he did drugs? did you ever find that out? he does drugs incase you didn't know. but hey did you hear he did drugs? heroin that one time? and there's a comic cover where they walk in on him and he's holding his arm? with a shot? he does drugs did you know that?
But Kate is not a fangirl of Clint, if anything, they’re already established as equals. He talks down to her, and she does it right back. She already knows how to fight, and she knows how to stand up for herself. She didn’t need to see Clint to be strong.
Her being uncomfortable with her family’s wealth wasn’t natural, but influenced by seeing her dad’s actions. Which is fine, but it does change the motivation behind her being a hero. It’s no longer a need to help people and those less fortunate, but a need to stop the bad guy.
@redaquil18k
