I think many of us, PIs, are spending more time telling trainees how competitive academic job market is. Instead, I hope we discuss the many roads that can get them there, and channel the interested postdocs towards a path that will help them get the academic job they aspire.

I am happy to say that the first major task I did as the Chief of LCBG (Department) was to launch two initiatives to foster postdoc training beyond lab skills with the goal of providing a wholistic training during their time with us.

The field of modeling/understanding disease/development using organoids is maturing in a logarithmic pace! At a great meeting with amazing talks reporting progress on how to develop and use organoids for almost any organ!
