Is it a dog? Is it a horse? Itās a spud! š„ Did you know that potatoes are rich in both vitamin C and potassium? Their skins also contain fiber, which is key to good digestive health. These benefits plus a longer shelf life make potatoes a solid staple among the fresh fruits and vegetables our clients can expect to receive. Our volunteers often spot fun-shaped produce hiding among the boxes ā each discovery is always a fun find.

Martha works as a babysitter and spends each day caring for and thinking of others. She shares that one of her struggles is finding time to accomplish everything in one day - go to work, pick up her kids, shop for and prepare their meals and spend quality time together. āWhen I come here, itās like getting three or four meals a week that I donāt have to worry about.ā Give now and help our neighbors like Martha provide nutritious food for their families:

"I stay home to take care of the girls, and he goes to work. Otherwise, we would end up paying more for a babysitter than what I get paid. It doesnāt make sense for me to go to work,ā Felipa shares. Every gift made by Dec 31 will be DOUBLED thanks to a match from our generous donors. Share the gift of food and hope with families like Felipa's in the new year and beyond.

Tamales de Elote, or Uchepos, are a true favorite and a taste of MichoacƔn's rich cultural heritage! Make them your own by adding fresh corn kernels, toppings of pecans and coconut, and filling them with queso fresco and roasted poblano peppers. And to add a truly unique flavor, try wrapping them in banana or avocado leaves!

āThe electric bill is very high. We are paying a lot more for power. Before we would pay $200 to $250. But now weāre paying $700. Itās incredible.ā Our neighbors shouldnāt have to choose between paying their bills or buying groceries. Your donations make an immediate impact right here at home, ensuring families like Felipaās have one less worry while navigating these challenging times.
