No, it's because it's fun. Most people that say it's their favorite still play it, which means it's not just nostalgia blindness. The campaign's story is lackluster, but nearly everything else about the game is great.

Do better in comparison to literal one man teams of modders that add more content in shorter periods of time, and a lot of them are actually just as polished as what you'd expect from an official update.

This game was marketed as a live service, yet it's had significantly less live service than Halo 5 which released in a similar time frame and already had multiple content updates by it's equivalent lifetime, whereas infinite has had none, not including limited events.

Yeah, Mojang has to worry about multiple platforms and stuff, but again I stress that they are a whole entire development studio comprised of the most suitable people to work on the game, and owned by one of the largest companies on the planet.
