UW is 18-4. The 4 losses are:
- at
#4
Gonzaga on a buzzer beater.
-
#11
Virginia Tech.
- Minnesota (16-6) on a buzzer beater (after a missed travel).
- at Auburn (15-6).
The Huskies are 9-0 in Pac-12 play w/ an average margin of victory of 13 points.
Not Top 25?
#Bullshit
The
#Mariners
remain in a tight race with their former trio after 6 games:
Teoscar + Geno + Kelenic:
16 RBI, 5 HR, 14 runs
Mariners team:
17 RBI, 4 HR, 17 runs
Jaden McDaniels might pick a school today.
If he picks Kentucky, he may get a duffel bag full of cash 😂, but he'll be battling multiple other highly rated recruits at his position(s) for playing time.
If he picks UW, he'll get a ton of PT & be a hometown hero.... Be a Dawg.
This is crazy. UW will likely have the tallest roster in the nation next season:
Riley Sorn: 7'4"
Bryan Penn-Johnson: 7'0"
Sam Timmins: 6'11"
Jaden McDaniels: 6'10"
Nate Roberts: 6'10"
Hameir Wright: 6'9"
Isaiah Stewart: 6'9"
Jamal Bey: 6'6"
Naz Carter: 6'6"
Last season's ex-Mariner trio has retaken the lead over the
#Mariners
after 8 games.
Teoscar + Suarez + Kelenic
24 RBI, 5 HR
Mariners team:
22 RBI, 4 HR
😢
You could make a very solid young NBA team strictly out of guys who played in Seattle's Metro League:
Dejounte
KPJ
Matisse
MPJ
Paolo
Nowell
Elleby
Tari
Marjon
A lot of guards from Garfield HS playing well in college basketball right now:
Jaylen Nowell
Tramaine Isabell
Daejon Davis
Terrell Brown
Jashaun Agosto
Top local recruit Zoom Diallo is sticking with the Dawgs. Huge for Coach Sprinkle. Zoom can have a Jaylen Nowell type impact for UW and become the next local legend.
UW's Terrell Brown Jr. is 6th in the nation in scoring and 5th in steals (leads the Pac-12 in both). Should be a strong candidate for Pac-12 player of the year.
Over the past year we've opened the country's best arena, sold out WNBA games & easily led the league in attendance, produced the
#1
pick in the NBA draft, & have had fans camp overnight to see Lebron (& others) play.
The
@NBA
is flat out foolish not to have a team in Seattle.
12 games into the new season and these 4 ex-Mariners from last year all have more hits than ANY current Mariner:
Teoscar Hernandez (15)
Eugenio Suarez (12)
Jarred Kelenic (12)
Jose Caballero (12)
(Ty France leads the
#Mariners
with 11 hits).
Jamal Crawford averaged 31 points on 55% FG's + 6 assists in the last 4 NBA games he's played in.
If a guy did that in the G-League or Big 3, he'd get an NBA opportunity. Jamal did it in the actual NBA & hasn't been picked up. SMH.
Matisse Thybulle had 5 steals in 19 minutes for the 76ers tonight.
He is currently:
#1
in the NBA in steals per 36 minutes.
#1
in lowest FG% allowed.
#14
in blocks per 36 min. (as a 6'5" wing player).
#WoofWoof
#DubsUp
Former Husky Isaiah Stewart is figuring out the NBA game:
Last 3 games:
18 pts, 16 reb (8-12 FG)
19 pts, 12 reb (7-11 FG)
15 pts, 21 reb (7-12 FG)
The kid is gonna be a beast.
UW will have arguably their most talented team ever this season. Three 5 star recruits, 2 of them likely lottery picks, plus a junior who could be a first round pick. Not to mention the tallest team in the nation. This season is going to be fun.
Can UW beat North Carolina? Why not? NC lost to Syracuse (same defense) & UW has weapons:
Dickerson & Nowell can't be stopped by 1 defender.
Thybulle is the best defender in the nation.
Naz Carter is as athletic as anyone.
UW has 4 seniors that have seen it all before.
Jaylen Nowell has signed with the Timberwolves for 4 years (only the first year guaranteed) with first year at $1.4 million.
Shoutout to all who argued he should have stayed at UW. 🙄
Garfield is state champs once again, beating O'Dea 69-50. Legend Smiley with a legendary performance for the Bulldogs, scoring 30 points. Best sophomore in the state. Brandon Roy's dominant run as coach continues. 🏆
Paolo Banchero got his share of hate for going to Duke and not UW. But it was easy to see he made the right decision at the time, and even more obvious now, and he will still be a local legend. Has a chance to chase Dejounte, Zach, & B-Roy for the best ever out of Seattle.
Some 206ers off to a good start in their first college season:
Kevin Porter Jr. (USC):
14 pts & 4 reb per game
CJ Elleby (WSU):
11 pts & 8 reb per game
Terrell Brown (Seattle U):
10 pts, 6 reb, 5 ast per gm.
Can't wait to see Jaden McDaniels & Isaiah Stewart in a Husky uniform tomorrow.
McDaniels is a game changer with his length & versatility and Stewart is a beast.
UW has had one & dones before, but these 2 are on another level.
Seattle basketball 1 year plan:
Big time Summer at the Crawsover Pro-Am.
Seattle Storm get the
#1
pick (Caitlin Clark).
Husky hoops gets back to the Big Dance.
NBA announces Seattle will get an expansion team.
Quade Green is eligible to start the season for UW. That's huge!
He will be somewhat similar to senior year David Crisp, but a better passer & creator. Can play off the ball too, has a solid catch & shoot 3 ball. He's a good fit for this UW team.
There are rumors OKC might like Matisse Thybulle for their first round (
#21
) draft pick.
The thought of any of the three Seattle guys in the draft going to OKC is disgusting. F the Thunder.
Huskies beat Oregon State 82-72. The Beavers are not good, but all conference road wins are big for this UW team. Terrell Brown Jr leads the way with 27 points.
Jaylen Nowell tonight:
18 pts (6-9) FG's
5 reb
21 minutes
🔥
He has officially arrived in the NBA. Double figures in 8 straight games with limited playing time.
There's a reason Jaylen Nowell scored 32 points in his first college game & scored 1,000 points faster than any player in UW history.
He has the skills, work ethic, & the "it" factor. He won't just make the NBA, he'll be good in the NBA.
Future Huskies Isaiah Stewart (definitely) & Jaden McDaniels (hopefully) will be playing together at the Jordan Brand Classic HS all-star game....
& will also be coached by UW assistant Dave Rice's brother (
@csb206
w/ the find).
Mike Hopkins goes man defense out of a timeout with 30 seconds left after Baylor was preparing for a zone.
Been saying UW needs a man for exactly.that purpose for a year now. Big time improvement for Hop!
Kansas ranked
#10
, Arizona ranked
#13
. UW beat both but unable to crack the Top 25 this week. Which should remind Husky fans, never underestimate the power of the tournament committee to screw us over (as they have in the past). Dawgs need to keep winning.
