When you restore a piece. It doesn’t mean you make it look like new. You keep its story, each mark is part of its history. You restore its purpose whilst making it look like it’s always been loved & cared for.

I restored this lovely scratch built miniature chest of drawers. The Marquetry must have taken an Age. Stripped it of all its old finish. Made necessary Repairs. Replaced odd knobs & ebonised them. Sealed with shellac & then wax finished.

This belonged to the Mum of a lovely friend of mine. Her Mum sadly passed away & she wanted me to restore some former glory into this. It was magical to see it transformed. The flames of the mahogany are truly on fire.

This poor Lowboy had lost its top & had a piece of Formica nailed onto it. So I restored it & made a top out of reclaimed Oak from a broken 18th century table. Biscuited the planks together & hand carved the edge.

Im saddened to see that some football fans actually want another team to go out of business. Rivalries are the heart & soul of football. But to want a team to actually cease to exist is a strange attitude.

A 1920’s Cave a Liqueur. It was empty & in a poor state. So I restored it & found a lovely crystal set that fitted into it. The Bramah lock was keyless. But in my box of keys, I found one that worked. The odds of that are 1000’s/1.

Totally fed up with this Wokery trying to dumb down Christmas! It’s not thismas or happy holidays. It’s not a Winter market, it’s a Christmas market. Christmas is a lovely time to be shared with family & friends! So ive really decorated my hallway this year.

The Double Slap was beautiful. Both brave boys walking away holding their slapped cheeks 🤣 I’d like the back story of the kid doing the slapping, as not one person challenged his intervention. 👌🏼

I don’t think you should be paid to represent your country. It’s an honour. The players money should be given to grass roots football or to pay for defib machines to be installed at all amateur pitches.
I restored this chest & contents. It was from Ruston Co in Lincoln. They manufactured most of the WW1 Sopwith Camel Biplanes. I sent it to auction but it failed to reach the estimate. So it’s coming home with me. Should I sell or keep?

A Georgian pedestal table, a large Chinese blue & white porcelain planter on it with a Money plant in it. Believed to bring prosperity and business success.
A smoothing plane from the Ruston “Sopwith Camel” chest. It was altered to match a process for the propellor dept. It was used to form the lead edge of a propellor blade. I love the wear on the front edges.

My lovely Mum loved her Mother’s Day gifts. A beautiful Shanghai pattern Jardiniere c1910 & with a smashing late Georgian jardiniere stand. One of the perks of having a son who restores antiques 🤓

This was an absolute pig to restore. The dining table at Florence Nightingales ancestral home. Besides being large, it wouldn’t take a finish. It took days 😳 & when I’d finished it. Me & the owner found finger prints from a Small hand pressed into it.
