I've heard that Ryan Mason was interviewed but Chris Wilder was Reading's first choice and was offered the role and took time to agree terms before accepting, and was at Reading finalising backroom staff last week. Looks like it will be confirmed within a few days.

30 years ago tomorrow, a Michael Gilkes goal saw Reading win 1-0 against Burnley at Elm Park. The Royals went on to finish 8th in Division 2 (now League 1). Stoke, Bolton & WBA were promoted. Preston, Mansfield, Wigan & Chester were relegated.
