The Robinson-Huron Treaty was signed on September 9, 1850 with an Annuities payment of $1.60. In 1874 the Annuities payment increased to $4, but has not changed since. Will we be able to add 2021 as the year of meaningful compensation for Treaty beneficiaries?

#RHT1850 outlines an agreement for sharing land and resources. First Nations in the Robinson Huron Treaty territory did not surrender their land, but agreed to share it in exchange for an annual payment called an 'annuity'.

For those interested; There will be a sacred fire lit in a teepee for the duration of the Phase 2 court dates. It will be located behind the Radisson Hotel where this picture was taken. There will also be a pipe ceremony at 8:30 a.m on the morning of October 15, 2019.
