@RobSchneider @JohnFetterman I actually respected Fetterman for about fifteen minutes, despite what a slob he is. Those fifteen minutes are over. He's a fraud and a jackanapes.

Playing chess is smart and valuable in political matters. This "Faith Commission" is a spiritual matter, and exalts several people who are genuine false prophets. It's like saying that Trump was playing chess when he claimed that he never asked God's forgiveness: that remark had no political purpose or justification. If Trump (who I love) is a spiritual imbecile, he should keep his mouth shut. He's doing a lot of good for Christians, which I appreciate. The WH Commission is not one of them.

@IXVegas @farmingandJesus Amen. Glad to see another Christian disavow Hagee. Too many evangelicals still respect him, for some reason. Welcome to Laodicea.

As I said in another reply: Obviously, I was speaking in "natural" terms about Trump, similar to saying "Bob is my good friend." I'm quite aware that Jesus said "there is none good but one, that is, God." But you're seeing Trump as the Devil incarnate, and that's just as bad as the MAGA types who worship him.

Not that you deserve a response, but for anyone else reading this: Obviously, I was speaking in "natural" terms about Trump, similar to saying "Bob is my good friend." I'm quite aware, thank you, that Jesus said "there is none good but one, that is, God." I'm also familiar with Romans 3. You're an arrogant little snot. I say it in all "Christian love," of course! ๐ Blocked.

Sincerity & Sarcasm from the Apostle Paul Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God. Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful. But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged of you, or of man's judgment: yea, I judge not mine own self. For I know nothing by myself; yet am I not hereby justified: but he that judgeth me is the Lord. Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God. And these things, brethren, I have in a figure transferred to myself and to Apollos for your sakes; that ye might learn in us not to think of men above that which is written, that no one of you be puffed up for one against another. For who maketh thee to differ from another? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? now if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst not received it? Now ye are full, now ye are rich, ye have reigned as kings without us: and I would to God ye did reign, that we also might reign with you. For I think that God hath set forth us the apostles last, as it were appointed to death: for we are made a spectacle unto the world, and to angels, and to men. We are fools for Christ's sake, but ye are wise in Christ; we are weak, but ye are strong; ye are honourable, but we are despised. Even unto this present hour we both hunger, and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and have no certain dwellingplace; And labour, working with our own hands: being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we suffer it: Being defamed, we intreat: we are made as the filth of the world, and are the offscouring of all things unto this day. I write not these things to shame you, but as my beloved sons I warn you. For though ye have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet have ye not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel. Wherefore I beseech you, be ye followers of me. Now some are puffed up, as though I would not come to you. But I will come to you shortly, if the Lord will, and will know, not the speech of them which are puffed up, but the power. For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power. (1 Corinthians 4, selected verses)

I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD. Our feet shall stand within thy gates, O Jerusalem. Jerusalem is builded as a city that is compact together: Whither the tribes go up, the tribes of the LORD, unto the testimony of Israel, to give thanks unto the name of the LORD. For there are set thrones of judgment, the thrones of the house of David. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee. Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces. For my brethren and companions' sakes, I will now say, Peace be within thee. Because of the house of the LORD our God I will seek thy good. (Psalm 122)

Who knows? We know one person who won't: Trump's "faith advisor," the insufferable Paula White. She's sucking up big-time to the Jews in Israel right now, in all the wrong ways: essentially saying, like John Hagee, that Jews don't need Jesus Christ for salvation. I defer to no one in my love for the Jews, but my understanding is that everyone needs Jesus Christ: Jew, Gentile, or Republican. I don't expect my Jewish friends to agree with this position, of course, but I beg you not to be suckered by the soothing words of these theological wh0res. They don't have your best interests at heart: they want something from you.

@JewsAreTheGOAT Frankly, I think Ben Shapiro is a smarmy little piss-ant, but that's largely because of his personal manner. He's repulsive to me. But when he calls out Owens, Carlson, or any other Jew-hater, I'm with him.

I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth. He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand. The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore. (Psalm 121)

@libsoftiktok It would be a mercy and a grace if the so-called Department of Education were shut down entirely; then this sort of headline-hunting nonsense wouldn't be necessary. But the gypsies, tramps and thieves in Congress obviously aren't gonna let this happen.

Because hard-core Calvinists are unable or unwilling to accept that God's foreknowledge and free will can co-exist. They've built an iron wall of formal "theology" around their brains, and not a shred of Biblical truth is allowed to enter. I'm referring to the TULIP people: moderate Calvinists are much more reasonable. (I am not referring to Paul Allan here; I'm responding to Martini's question.) The great preacher George Whitefield said, "A moderate Calvinism is the best position for evangelism." Of course, the TULIP people aren't interested in evangelism. Thank God for the moderate Calvinists who are.

For much of his life, Billy Graham worked with Catholics, but I don't think he ever cooperated with Pentecostal/Charismatic crazies like Paula White. Franklin is a bit more careful in these matters than his father was. He'll pray at an inauguration or ceremony, but he doesn't kiss up to presidents the way Billy did. But only God can judge Billy's intentions, and I know that's already been dealt with.

Thanks for your comment! When I talk about separation, I'm not talking about the First Amendment. That amendment merely says that no state can officially favor one religion or another, which is fine. When I talk about Baptists believing in "separation of church and state," it's because that's how Baptists have historically phrased it. It just means that no church can tell the gov't what to do, and vice-versa. I'm not gonna lose any sleep over Trump's "Faith Office," but I think it's detrimental to the welfare of religion in general and Christianity in particular: to be blunt, the people running it give Christianity a bad name. Re the Baptists, here's a good article:
