Thomas Jefferson on the Anglo-Saxon Spirit in the American’s Right of Conquest “To remind him [King George III] that our ancestors, before their emigration to America, were the free inhabitants of the British dominions in Europe, and possessed a right which nature has given to all men, of departing from the country in which chance, not choice, has placed them, of going in quest of new habitations, and of there establishing new societies, under such laws and regulations as to them shall seem most likely to promote public happiness. That their Saxon ancestors had, under this universal law, in the like manner left their native wilds and woods in the north of Europe, had possessed themselves of the island of Britain, then less charged with inhabitants, and had established there that system of laws which has so long been the glory and protection of that country… America was conquered, and her settlements made, and firmly established, at the expence of individuals, and not of the British public. Their own blood was spilt in acquiring lands for their settlement, their own fortunes expended in making that settlement effectual; for themselves they fought, for themselves they conquered, and for themselves alone they have right to hold.” Originally drafted in August 1774 as instructions for the Virginia delegates to the First Continental Congress, the tract was later published as a pamphlet in Williamsburg under the title “A Summary View of the Rights of British America”, and reprinted in Philadelphia and England.

Thomas Jefferson's Planned Deportation of Blacks from America... “Nor is it less certain that the two races, equally free, cannot live in the same government. Nature, habit, opinion has drawn indelible lines of distinction between them. It is still in our power to direct the process of emancipation and deportation peaceably and in such slow degree as that the evil will wear off insensibly, and their place be pari passu filled up by free white laborers. If on the contrary it is left to force itself on, human nature must shudder at the prospect held up. We should in vain look for an example in the Spanish deportation or deletion of the Moors. This precedent would fall far short of our case.” An excerpt from Thomas Jefferson's Autobiography, February 8th, 1821.

𝗪𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗹𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗝𝗲𝘄𝗶𝘀𝗵? An often repeated claim found online is that 78% of American slave owners were Jewish. This loosely originates from the black supremacist Nation of Islam book The Secret Relationship Between Blacks and Jews, Volume 1: The Jewish Role in Black Slavery. Nowhere in the book is this assertion actually made. It instead claims that “[Jews] constituted about 65-75% of the total Portuguese mercantile community”. This is found on page 23. The original claim of 78% of American slave owners being Jewish has no discernible sourcing beyond dubious graphics which circulate the internet. One of these graphics does in fact provide a source, that being The Historical Encyclopedia of World Slavery Volume I, by Junius P. Rodriguez, page 385. And on page 385 of this encyclopedia you will find the footnote… “About 5,000 Jews owned one or more slaves-about 1.25 percent of all the slaveowners in the antebellum South.” Regardless of this claims nonexistent and outright fraudulent sourcing, it fails to align at all to the contemporary census data on slave ownership. For this we will use data from the 1860 United States census. The following are the percentages of slave owning households by state, as by this 1860 census. Mississippi: 49% South Carolina: 46% Georgia: 37% Alabama: 35% Florida: 34% Louisiana: 29% Texas: 28% North Carolina: 28% Virginia: 26% Tennessee: 25% Kentucky: 23% Arkansas: 20% Missouri: 13% Maryland: 12% Delaware: 3% There was a total of 385,000 slave owning households across the South, each averaging around 6 white people. There were an estimated 16,000 Jews in the Antebellum South in 1860, the majority of whom lived in South Carolina and Louisiana. By these numbers alone the absurdity of 16,000 Jews being 78% of American slave owners becomes apparent. There were millions of white slave owners in the South, being over 1/3 of the total population. 50% of which held more than 5 slaves. 12% of which held more than 20 slaves. 78% of American slaves owners were not Jewish.
