Accidentally stumbled upon this little medieval laneway today in the heart of #Wexford Town. It's known as Keyser's Lane; deriving from Old Norse meaning ‘lane to the quays’. Many of the old Norse towns of Ireland contain either a street/lane/hill with the word 'Keyser' in it.

Interestingly, many of the lakes high up in the Comeragh Mountains contain fish, with brown trout being the most common. Laboratory analysis has shown the trout to be genetically distinct from normal brown trout, possibly surviving alone in the lake for over 12000 years.
