@trealochcorcaig Hi Terry! I've yet to see the difference, Terry, but I intend to keep posting there, regardless, as it's a handy depository for my 'X' posts and pics. And I like the fact that it allows for a longer wordcount and I'm not limited to just 4 pics per post. Thank you, Mr Z!

@CarmelP1968 @OldNormality Hi Carmel! And I think you're rather brow-beaten, too subservient, not even willing to challenge an unfair tax. But good 👍 luck, Carmel - no harm to you!

@CarmelP1968 @OldNormality Hi Carmel! And that's where it gets complicated, as I mentioned. If you think you are going to be simply handed a second avenue, a 'Plan B', which acts against the financial interests of the State, then the battle is not for you. With deft maneuvering, it's possible.

@OldNormality @CarmelP1968 Hi 'Dr Ribena'! And that's our opinion, too. 'Fool me once (USC, property tax, water tax), shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me'. As I said, we pay our way, financially, in society, when it's something we owe, but not one penny will we pay twice.

@CarmelP1968 @OldNormality Hi Carmel! And what we are intending to do is not (yet) illegal - granted, it's not the usual, standard route - legal 'shortcut', if you like - but perhaps not recommended if you have a vulture in the family, which we haven't, thankfully.

@OldNormality @CarmelP1968 Hi 'Dr Ribena'! Me and mine never bought into it, from the word go : we're all completely unjabbed, no 'boosters' etc. But we enjoyed our €9 pub meals which, apparently saved us, insulating us from the same bug that had pedestrians dropping dead on the streets of China...!

@OldNormality @CarmelP1968 Hi 'Dr Ribena'! And the USC - honestly, if RTE and 'The Irish Times' etc told people that they have to surrender their first born to State military service, imo the majority would do it, and then - anonymously - complain about it on social media! We are too subservient.

@CarmelP1968 @OldNormality Hi again, Carmel! That's a rather defeatist attitude - it's "the experts" that have us where we are! And sticking to your principles usually incurs heartache, unfortunately. I expect a 'Window Tax' to be reintroduced in the next budget : won't be paying that either!

@CarmelP1968 @OldNormality Hi Carmel! That remains to be seen - depending on how the transaction is done, there is a degree of 'ducking and diving' possible. It's complicated, but the transfer can be done if the right steps are followed. Loopholes exist but, if availed off, they will be closed down.

@OldNormality Hi 'Dr Ribena'! We have no issues about paying our ESB/gas etc bills, or car tax, income tax etc, but the so-called 'property tax'...?! Bridge too far : took us over 23 years to pay the mortgage, including taxes, and we're expected to pay a second time?! No.

@OldNormality Hi 'Dr Ribena'! Yes, every year we receive their 'bill', highlighting how much 'backtax' they claim we owe them. When the time comes, we intend to sell the house privately (no solicitors/estate agent involvement) in a cash sale, or gift it, privately, to a grandchild.

@OldNormality Hi 'Dr Ribena'! The Revenue have pursued in writing only, so far. No doubt they will take it further sooner or later, and we'll cross that bridge when we come to it. They can't deduct it at source, as none of us receive Social Welfare/unemployment payments. So far, so good!

@OldNormality Hi again, 'Dr Ribena'! Those that we owe this 'tax' to (!) have been chasing us since 2013 - every year brings a slightly edited version of the same notification ie 'pay up or else'. We asked to see the contract we signed, and we're still waiting to see it!

@Victus_Manao Hi Eoin! Blushing here...😊 Bleedin' scarlet! Others tell me I'm "politically confused, an anti-immigrant republican..", to which I reply that I'm "a traditional pro-Irish republican..". I could no more support PSF than I could FF. Or any Leinster House party, for that matter!
