We've always built differently - so here's what u should know. also giving out final final WL spots to ppl who thoughtfully interact with this post. let's go: 1. What's @playgigaverse? gigaverse is an onchain RPG which is easy to play (understand / know what to do without reading docs) and nostalgic af. contains risk / reward decisions, degenonomics, an item economy (tradeable ERC 1155s), character skill progression, customization (skins), PvE combat and PvP launching soon after we go live, with wagering. We've been quietly building since early 2024 but only announced once it was ready to launch. Once live, we'll continuously ship updates so the game stays fresh + meta evolves. 2. Why build on @AbstractChain? Why be powered by @ProofOfPlay? Abstract: actually making moves to streamline the EVM experience for newcomers to the space, heavily supporting creators / streamers, and many of the best builders I know (incl. my friends / chads at onchain heroes, cambria, duper and more) are deploying on Abs. The team is strong, they are long term ppl, and I respect that they haven't taken TVL-juicing shortcuts as you commonly see in new ecosystem launches. Proof of Play -- the POP VRF + other parts of the stack to come online in the weeks & months ahead, is simply the most performant and scalable onchain infra stack there is. Abs <> POP is a very strong combo. The god stack. 3. What's gigaverse upcoming mint on Abstract for? We're minting gigaverse ROMs, a factory NFT collection that gives holders: early access to the game (skip the waitlist), daily energy boost (can play / farm more), weekly claimable rare resources (ROM holders control this part of the item economy), and ofc future exposure to gigaverse. oh and gigus (sentient AI creator of the gigaverse) admires the ROMs. this is just the initial set of utility and we'll look to add more over time. 4. Will people without a ROM be able to play gigaverse? We ultimately want as many ppl to enjoy gigaverse as possible, so yes. However, at launch, there will be a waitlist for people who want to play without a ROM. So if you want to start playing gigaverse immediately, minting a ROM is the way to go. 5. Abstract XP? Yes, as we're using AGW as our primary sign-in method for the game, our players will all be eligible to earn Abstract XP. ✳️ 6. Abstract Badge? Yes, entering gigaverse will earn you an Abstract badge. 😉 More on this soon. 7. Streaming? Yes, I'm biased but I think gigaverse will be one of the most streamable apps on Abstract and will personally lean in to support any creators - large or smol - who want to stream gigaverse. 8. Long term plans? Despite officially being a no-roadmap project we've shipped a bunch of stuff: GLHFers (imo the top gaming pixel collection), Adjutant (programmatic WL system), Auctioneer (a smart contract that creates a deflationary flywheel), Dungetron (Discord game), unreleased game on Farcaster, and ofcourse now, gigaverse. We'll continue to operate in this manner, so when we ship stuff it continues to surprise & delight and isn't ItS aLL PrIcEd In BrO. 9. What about @GLHFers? GLHFers is our genesis collection and will always be important to the work we do. Auctioneer has 120+ more auctions to run very slowly over time (he uses auction funds to sweep & burn the floor of the collection) so I expect the collection will become significantly more deflationary over time. The strongest long term alignment to our ecosystem is to have a GLHFers + a gigaverse ROM. For new people entering to play gigaverse, you'll have plenty of fun with a ROM and don't need to sweat. That said, as the saying goes -- there's never been a better time to GLHF. 10. Team You should think of GLHF as a decentralized game studio comprised of veteran game devs + crypto native degens. Everyone involved is highly experienced, knows what good looks like, and operates extremely quickly. We have 5 core team members (follow @0xgarnish & @0xBunyoo who are the ones with twitter accounts), and an extended group of 10+ contributors -- some of whom you'd know if we chose to namedrop them. 11.
