🗣️"My ideal experience would have been to swap straight from ETH (on mainnet) to $TRUMP on Solana. Unfortunately I could not do this on Jumper or in-wallet (Phantom)" Orby enables this with just a few lines of code. Chain Abstraction is here!
I'm not much of a degen, but I aped into $TRUMP Here's a breakdown of my experience as an Ethereum user buying a shitcoin on Solana First I searched for $TRUMP on dexscreener. There are reasonably liquid markets for $TRUMP on Raydium and Meteora. I now need a wallet that works on Solana and some SOL in order to buy it I set up a Phantom wallet. I know I have to bridge some funds to this new account, so I go to Jumper which supports Ethereum to Solana bridging. I copied my new Solana address from Phantom. I'm going to use Jumper to send ETH from a metamask account to my new Solana address. Out of curiosity, I check if I can do ETH to $TRUMP on Jumper. The token isn't showing up, but I see a lot of other unofficial Trump shitcoins. No routes available to these though. Looks like the only route available is ETH to SOL. I initiate the bridge/swap and check Phantom SOL shows up in my Phantom reasonably fast (20-30 seconds). I think it used Mayan bridge. Now I go to Raydium. I check the price on SOL to TRUMP swap. Checked the official trump memecoin website, which conveniently has the token address on the front page, to make sure I'm buying the right thing and not some even shittier shitcoin Initiate the swap, check solscan, waited a few seconds, and it looks like I've got the $TRUMP. Took a minute to show up in my Phantom Some takeaways from this - Phantom wallet UX is great - "Bridging" my funds was fast and easy, but taking this step was annoying - Solana UX is no different from any other chain. I had to use it because $TRUMP was issued there - Raydium/Meteora/Jupiter aren't nearly as polished as their Ethereum ecosystem equivalents, but they get the job done My ideal experience would have been to swap straight from ETH (on mainnet) to $TRUMP on Solana. Unfortunately I could not do this on Jumper or in-wallet (Phantom) Relating this to Chain Abstraction Do I care what chain my newly purchased $TRUMP is on? Yes and no. I was forced into the Solana ecosystem because I wanted to buy it. I had to set up a new wallet that supports Solana. I had to use tools I wasn't familiar with. The DEX apps on Solana were all new to me. I don't trust them, and I would have been worried if I were swapping a large amount of value. Over time, I will trust these apps more I would rather have done a single swap from an app I already trust (like Uniswap or Metamask). If that were possible, it would be nice to know that the $TRUMP I was swapping into was a token on Solana. But it would be acceptable to me whether it was on Ethereum, Arbitrum, Optimism, Base, Polygon, zkSync, or Scroll as well. In the future, add any chain in Orbit or Superchain to this list of "acceptable" chains for me If I want to buy $TRUMP, I do not care where the token is issued. I want to use apps I trust and I'm familiar with. If an app I trust tells me "this is the official $TRUMP memecoin and here's the price to swap into it" that is ALL I care about. I trust that the app is 1) being truthful about the tokens I'm swapping, 2) giving me a decent price, and 3) not sending my money to a complete shitchain operated by a malicious actor. MAYBE as an advanced user I would use a feature to opt in/out of certain chains, or see which chains a given token is on My point here is Chain Abstraction is Inevitable If you don't see this, you're either too far in the industry/tech weeds, or you're degening so hard that you don't care

Very good summary by our friends @okto_web3 . With Orby: - Users focus on interacting with the apps they like. - App developers build on the chain that’s best for their needs. - Wallets can be universal from day one and automatically expand to new chains with every new deployment of Orby. - Chains focus on attracting developers, and with a single deployment of the Orby, those developers will have access to all users in web3.
🧵 Chain Abstraction Deep Dives: Part 8 - Orb Labs 1/ While many projects focus on individual aspects of chain abstraction, @0xOrbLabs takes a unique approach with Orby - a Chain Abstraction Provider that aims to bring seamless multi-chain experiences to every wallet, application, and chain through intent-driven interoperability.
