@RikOostenbroek @neurocolor if only all those big ai art critics tried it once and see the amount of work it takes to come up with something new and fresh and be able to stay consistent in that style:)

You're right that AI’s potential to be self-controlling is intriguing, but I think that idea applies more to AI in general than to AI art specifically. With digital art, the distinction between artists using AI as a tool and AI being fully autonomous in its creative decisions is critical. Most art today (whether AI as tool was used or not) is shaped by human vision and intent. When you see digital art online and wonder, 'Is it AI or not?' it reflects this mix of tool-assisted creativity and traditional means of artistry. But autonmosj art and digital art arent destined to fully merge imho because fully autonomous art raises entirely different questions about authorship, intent, purpose, reception etc.' They're two parallel discussions, not one and the same.

I see your point, but even if AI plays both the airplane and the captain, as you put it, the direction and destination still come from the human. Tools evolve, sure, but art has always been about intent and vision. Whether AI becomes more autonomous or not (which one could argue it already is), the decision to use it, guide it, and interpret the result still reflects the artist's choice. This also raises the distinction between autonomous art and AI art, which, in my view, are not the same.

@haydclay If you want art to be considered art, you have to be open to criticism most of it is cliche, boring, overdone, and over-relying on the technological narrative of its medium

My thesis is that AI abstract art will only increase in value from here, as AI models evolve toward perfect realism. Since hyper-realistic AI-generated art will become effortless to produce and abundant, its value will decline, while the rarity and creative challenge of compelling AI abstract art will make it more valuable.
