Both my mom and I share a birthday. It was probably annoying for her when I was little- but as an adult it was fun.
We shared one last birthday a couple days ago.
Her struggle is over and our family is just so very sad.

Not widely known outside of our immediate family and friends is that my mom is dying. She picked up a freak brain infection which destroyed her brain. She is now in hospice and my family has gathered to help her on her last journey.
Much of who I am, is owed to my mom.

Some footage of the rescue. The team effort saved the dog’s life and reunited her with her family.
Had Bunsen not spotted and stayed with the quiet camouflaged dog this story would have a very different and sad ending.

Breakdown: I spotted the dog and stayed with her until the humans were alerted. Adam ran back and got a sled. The Mom uploaded pictures and called animal emerg and dadguy hauled the dog 3km to safety. Team effort and dog is safe!

This weekend was the first time I took Beaker X-Country skiing.

Did my first science show post COVID to a bunch of grade 2-3 kids in reading camp.
Hearing them all yell SCIENCE RULES, scream with excitement and that they want to be a scientist is super rewarding. Maybe a kid in the crowd will grow up to change the future.

We did a reaction today where the nines mixed a strong acid with a copper sulfate solution to which aluminum was added. Before their eyes it dissolved. After filtering it, pure copper remained.
It was absolute magic to most of them.
