Thanks for sharing your experience under the 1975 Act. Expropriation under it has also been executed to build army bases, railway tracks and even to enable private interests such as mining and building malls. The process under the 1975 Act, was draconian and compensation ambivalent. Though not perfect, the process under the new expropriation Act is more in line with administrative justice precepts🙏🏾

That’s truly said. I hope the president taps into emergency or contingency funding urgently to plug the gap for now. Also something has to be done regarding the jobs that may be lost. Hopefully diplomatic talks will restore sense though the USAID funding is broader than US-SA relations.
