On 1/29, IACP hosted 31 police professionals & other first responders, along with 2 facility dogs from agencies across the Washington, D.C. area for the Supporting Growth After Tragedy training at IACP HQ. The session focused on resilience-building strategies to support personal & professional post-traumatic growth—an especially pertinent conversation given the first responders deployed to the scene of the tragic plane crash at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport on 1/29/25. Our hearts go out to the families & loved ones affected by this devastating event, & we commend the brave first responders who acted swiftly to provide aid & support. We hope they & their peers can lean on resources the IACP offers. Thank you to all first responders for your unwavering dedication & professionalism in public service.
