We will never ever see another player like Novak Djokovic. Mentality by far the best male player ever. You just can’t faze him. Off to the semis for Novak.
Really incredible that people think Nadal is faking injuries. The guy is the greatest fighter the sport has ever seen & maybe even in any sport, ever. Imagine faking injuries to 22 Major titles. Just appreciate all these greats. They certainly appreciate each other. 🤝
Thoughts on the GOAT debate: If Djokovic wins on Sunday he is without question the GOAT. Will have won every Major at least twice. All the Masters 1000’s. Positive H2H against Federer & Nadal. Hard to argue.

Djokovic’s ability to defend on a hard court is like nothing else tennis has ever seen. He’s making Rublev look ordinary out there and taking away his tremendous forehand. Incredible to watch.
It's truly incredible that people think that Djokovic is faking his injury. He has absolutely nothing to prove at Wimbledon or any event. He's won Wimbledon 7 times. He has no time for drama or nonsense. These are super elite athletes. They are concerned with winning. Not drama.
Felix's looks to be struggling with the heat, which seems a bit odd considering it's pretty cool now.
Felix actually wanted to quit but Shapovalov said to him: "just try your best, keep going".
What are friends for, right?

If Nadal isn't playing Monaco, there's no way he's playing Barcelona. Madrid doesn't make sense either because of the conditions. The play has to be Rome then RG if anything. But, you play Rome and get injured again? Or, just go to Paris and roll the dice? I'm thinking you roll
@NickKyrgios
Can’t keep blaming everyone for your losses, mate. There will always be adversity in wins & losses. You had major issues in 3 of your 4 losses this year but not in your wins. Worth taking a look at that.
You gotta ask yourself: if there weren’t any clay events, would Swiatek be ranked No. 1? Highly unlikely.
Sabalenka takes her to the woodshed 6-3, 6-3 to reach the finals in Cincy.
@Dimichard_
Looks normal for his age. Just lost his hair and doesn’t want to shave it off. Plus he was never a guy who cared about fashion or looking good like Federer. Just wanted to get the job done on court. Which he did.
Seeing a lot of comments that Federer didn’t congratulate Djokovic on his RG victory.
Really no reason to do so.
1) he’s retired
2) Djokovic didn’t break his record. He already did that a while ago.
3) how do we know he didn’t send him a text message?
You’ll be hard-pressed to ever find a player that loves to the sport of tennis as much as Andy Murray. Sure, there are other players, but Murray gave absolutely everything to making the most of his career. Bravo 👏👏👏

Incorrect. How many 6ft 10 inch players have played tennis well and been champions? You have to be able to move. Isner and Karlovic had the best serves ever. How many slams did they win? How much of a better serve can you get than that?

Alcaraz is an all around better player at 21 than Nadal was. He’s not better on clay. He never will be. He won Wimbledon and US Open already as well. He has a chance to win the career slam and Olympic Gold by the age of 21.
Might be some push back on this, but for me, right now, Alcaraz is the best player in the world. He hasn’t been the most consistent this year, but his ability and level (top level) is overall better than everyone at the moment.
Nadal is such a warrior. Nothing to prove. He’s won everything and at 37 he’s undergoing surgery to make another comeback. These type of champions are once in a lifetime.
Amazing how reporters are asking Sinner how his generation of Alcaraz and Rune and him are having better luck against the Big 3.
First off, Federer has retired.
Second, Nadal is on his last legs and Djokovic is now 36.
They are getting older. These guys are 20-22. They are
Team work makes the dream work. Berrettini and Zverev chipped away at Djokovic in the quarters & semis, leaving a fresh Medvedev to finish the job. That’s why this sport is so tough.

Bouchard hasn’t played in the main draw of a slam since the French Open of 2020. That’s 14 Majors. I don’t think there’s another player out there that gets as much attention and hype as her for not even playing.
@TheTennisLetter
What are the 19 sports ahead of tennis? And you need top, top players like an Agassi, or Sampras or McEnroe. Nine in the world is not going to get anyone excited. Imagine Federer, Nadal or Djokovic were American? Big difference.
We can pretty much confirm that Federer is done with Nike & will move to Uniqlo shortly. Numbers were too far apart & they have been in negotiations for months. An end of an era for Federer & Nike & what was the most prolific male tennis partnership in the company's history.
Some food for thought on Nadal as Djokovic continues to scale new heights:
Nadal was way better younger than Djokovic was. Nadal was No. 2 in the world behind Federer on July 7, 2005. Djokovic didn’t get to No. 2 in the world until February 1, 2010. By the end 2010, Nadal had 9
Lots of mixed reviews on Rafa Nadal's season but let's keep the following in mind:
He played in only 9 events. 9. And he'll likely finish No. 2 in the world this year. Went 45-4 on the season & won 5 titles. That's nothing short of outstanding.
And for the record, it doesn't matter what Alcaraz does the rest of the year, even if he wins Basel, Paris and Turin. Djokovic should end the year No. 1. He won 3 slams and made the finals of Wimbledon. Outstanding achievement.
“Got to take care of my body, listen to the signs, work well with the team, get the balance right with everything that's happening in my life,” Federer said about his hopes for 2020.
“But I'm happy how I played this season, and I'm extremely excited for next season.”
GOAT Quote
You look at the recent opponents that Djokovic has had in Rublev and Hurkacz and you can see how small the margins are. If Hurkacz had a better forehand, he could have won and if Rublev had more dexterity in his game, he had a chance to win, too. Djokovic has everything. Simple.

The perfectionist that Nadal is, he gestures to his camp that he wants to head to the practice court to work on a few things after his semifinal victory. Truth be told, his groundies weren't as clean as the quarters or third-round.
Still think Casper Ruud is super overrated. He’s in this soft patch of men’s tennis where he can basically tank the grass season and finish Top 5 in the world. Again, nothing against him. Good guy, nice game but he’s definitely benefitting from a weak top 10 overall.

Massive clout-chasing comment. What is the most difficult shot in tennis? The Serve. What is the most difficult shot in pickleball? ....

Here’s our latest take on Nadal:
He’s not retiring just yet. Don’t worry. Even if he doesn’t play the French, he will play again this year. Likely in Toronto and the US Open.

My friend, all we are saying is that we’ve spoken to a few credible sources. The matter is serious and we can’t say anymore. I can DM if you’d like. But you have to keep it quiet.
Interesting that if you watch Djokovic in his first round (even though it was a tough one), he was in a great mood. Joking with the crowd and enjoy the moment.
He’s in about as great of a mental space that an athlete can be in. Impressive.
