Now that Voyager 1 is back online, mark your calendars. On November 18, 2026, Voyager 1 will become the first human made object to be 1 light day away from earth, meaning that its signal will take a whole day to reach earth and vice versa.

Today in 1982, Venera 14 imaged the surface of Venus. It would be, to date, the final time. While Vegas 1 and 2 would deliver landers and balloons to Venus in 1985, they would not image the surface. And since then, there have been no landers.
