Proud to join legislative leaders from every state in the country on a letter to U.S. Senate leaders to express strong support for Judge Amy Coney Barrett,
@realDonaldTrump
nominee to the United States Supreme Court.
The United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) goes into enforcement today. It's a modern trade agreement that will have a positive impact on agriculture & manufacturing here in the Badger state.
#USMCA
Thank you
@realDonaldTrump
for supporting
#Wisconsin
by sending 1.75 million rapid point-of-care tests to help protect the most vulnerable and get kids back into school. I look forward to seeing how effectively these tools are used in the state.
Evers made another harmful mistake. Such a life-altering decision should be made when you're an adult, not a child. Many countries, including Norway, Sweden, Finland, the United Kingdom, and the Netherlands, do not allow for gender transition surgery before the age of 18.
BREAKING: I just vetoed Republicans' bill banning gender-affirming care for LGBTQ youth.
I promised I would veto any bill that makes Wisconsin a less safe, less inclusive, and less welcoming place for LGBTQ folks and kids—and I keep my promises.
I am directing the Assembly Committee on Campaigns and Elections to use its investigatory powers to immediately review how the statewide election was administered. There should be no question as to whether the vote was fair and legitimate.
The legislature passed an advisory referendum asking Wisconsin voters a simple question: Shall able-bodied child-less adults be required to look for work to receive taxpayer-funded welfare benefits?
It's clear that there's a significant disconnect between what Democrats say and what they do when it comes to our judiciary. Let's discuss the importance of fairness and impartiality in our legal system.
I just sent a request to the governor to lower the state and U.S. flags in honor of Rush Limbaugh. He will be missed. No doubt he has made a lasting impact on American politics and conservatism.
It was an honor to be invited to travel by private plane with Pres. Trump to attend his rally in Alabama. I provided him details about our robust efforts to restore full integrity & trust in elections, including our top-to-bottom investigation by Justice Michael Gableman.
Families dealing w/ Bidenomics are feeling the pinch, with 60% of adults saying they’re living paycheck to paycheck and 40% consider themselves worse off than last year. The average Wisconsin family would have saved $600, but now they're in for a struggle.
On Thursday, Republicans voted in favor of prohibiting gender surgery for minors. My Democratic colleagues continue to use the word hate when discussing this bill, and I am sick of the empty rhetoric.
Another round of late Friday afternoon vetoes by Governor Evers.
Today he vetoed crucial tax relief for Wisconsin citizens by rejecting a middle-class tax cut, relief for retirees, and support for married couples.
The repeal of Act 10 would bankrupt schools and local governments right after we gave them a historic funding increase. This is another attempt by liberal special interest groups to undo the law to please their donors now that there’s been a shift in the court.
BREAKING on
@AP
Seven unions representing teachers and other public workers in Wisconsin filed a lawsuit Thursday attempting to end the state’s near-total ban on collective bargaining for most public employees.
Another day and another confusing emergency order. This shutdown has put half a million people out of work. It’s time to get everyone back to work in every part of the state.
Recently, Wisconsin enacted something called a tax-free retirement. Republicans in the Legislature have fought for years to reduce taxes, but this one is going to be the most impactful for our retirees.
Today’s decision demonstrates that the rule of law prevails and the illegal drop boxes are finally going to stop. This is a giant step forward in our efforts to ensure election integrity. Our next step has to be electing a new governor who will sign additional election reforms.
For nearly three years, Wisconsin's state Assembly speaker has used his Republican majority to block, thwart or resist almost every significant move made by Democratic Gov. Tony Evers
On the floor, we're voting on legislation that guarantees admissions for our best and brightest students to attend Wisconsin universities, guarantees freedom of speech on campus, and eliminates race-based admissions and aid programs.
Under recent negotiations, the state will provide almost $280 million in additional funding for choice and charter schools, providing the opportunity for choice schools to increase capacity by nearly 40%, which will allow 20,000 more students to attend choice schools.
Today, at regional press conferences around WI, Legislative Republicans unveiled a tax plan to return the surplus back to the hardworking taxpayers. The package includes a marriage credit, child and dependent care credit, retirement income exemption, and a middle-class tax cut!
Legislative Republicans unveiled "Returning Your Surplus": a plan for major tax relief, making good on our promise to return those surplus dollars back to the hardworking people of Wisconsin. It's time for Gov. Evers to fix his veto and back this middle-class tax cut.

"The governor has denied the people a voice through this unprecedented administrative overreach. Unfortunately, that leaves the legislature no choice but to ask the Supreme Court to rein in this obvious abuse of power." 1/2
Thank you for having me on to voice my frustration and anger over the lack of action by
@GovEvers
with the
#KenoshaRiots
. The governor needs to put down his political sword and do what's right for the state and the city of Kenosha. The city is burning and now two people are dead.
.
@Kenosha_News
' frustration with

response or lack thereof. "Evers knew about the situation in Kenosha and the potential for looting and violence hours earlier. He did nothing, instead throwing Kenosha and its police department under the bus."
We met the Governor and the Democrats 99% of the way on the map that they asked for. Still, Governor Evers said he would veto the maps. Call Governor Evers and tell him to sign the maps that were approved in both houses. 608-266-1212
This latest emergency order is confusing. This shutdown has put half a million people out of work. It’s time to get everyone back to work in every part of the state.
I was honored to deliver the Republican response to the State of the State address. Republicans are focused on reforming government, growing the economy, and making the right priorities for the state by using the resources that we already have. Watch here
Eliminating race as a factor in admissions and aid programs aligns with the principles of equality and fairness. It ensures that every applicant is evaluated solely on their individual merits, which is what these decisions should be based on.
People’s trust in Wisconsin’s elections has been tested. Clearly there is a severe mismanagement of the WEC and a new administrator is needed. I am calling for the resignation of Meagan Wolfe as Elections Commission Administrator.
I have previously stated my support for local efforts to control the spread of the coronavirus and do not favor a statewide mandate. It’s disappointing that yet again Gov. Evers has chosen to not communicate or work with the legislature.

For the thousands of parents in the School Choice program who are worried about the ability of their child to continue receiving a fair education, we’re proud to say the program will grow, thrive and prosper.
Positive Jobs numbers from

We have thought our maps were the best option from the beginning. We appreciate the court’s due diligence and are glad to move forward with these maps that make the least changes and comply with traditional redistricting criteria. (1/2)
After Governor Evers proposed a gas tax increase, which I strongly opposed, it’s good to see he’s again following our lead. Something I’m sure he will again tout as his own idea on the campaign trails.
Glad Wisconsin is on the list of states most financially prepared for a recession. Thanks to
@SpeakerVos
,
@SenFitzgerald
and their colleagues who helped us do the hard work necessary over the past decade!
Democrats at the federal level tried spending recklessly to help the workforce and all we got for it was crushing inflation. We are not going to do that in Wisconsin. Read my full response below.
We learned that the governor’s office secretly recorded a meeting with legislative leaders. At a time when state leaders should continue to find ways to work together, this decision is unprecedented, clearly outside the norm and shameful.
Signed and just delivered to
@GovEvers
. Once again, we can return surplus tax dollars back to the hardworking taxpayers. This bill cuts income taxes, reduces the personal property tax, pays down debt & invests in the rainy day fund. There’s no reason why it shouldn't become law.
Thank you to the people working so hard to keep us healthy, safe & informed.

Very proud to announce that we will be passing a $3.4 billion middle class tax cut & funding schools at the 2/3 milestone! The average Wisconsin family will see $1,200 in tax relief.
After news that Wisconsin will see $4.4 billion more in revenues than expected, Republicans announced a $3.4 billion middle class tax cut & another historic investment in K-12 schools that meets the requirements to receive federal relief funding. The avg. family will save $1,200!
Yesterday, we celebrated Inauguration Day & welcomed 24 members who are joining the 5,093 people who have served in the Assembly since 1848. I'm honored to represent the 63rd & thank the members of the Assembly for once again giving me the opportunity to serve as speaker.
I joined my colleagues in asking

schools that are providing in-person education. The letter requests that he priorities schools with in-person classes when he distributes the additional federal funds.
When the Bucks had a similar situation, Democrats and Republicans worked together to find a solution on the best path forward. Instead, Governor Evers drops this bomb in the budget, never mentioning or attempting to collaborate with the Legislature in any way.
Whether you agree with them or not, we all have to follow state laws until they’re changed or a court find them unconstitutional. I hope Governor-elect Evers will reconsider his statement and set an example for the rest of the state.
Democrats have been exaggerating and resorting to hyperbole throughout the debate. The vote is about ensuring equal branches of government exist in
#Wisconsin
especially during this time of divided government.
The criminal acts we saw in Madison destroying parts of the Capitol should never be tolerated. Speaking with several African American pastors this morning, one pastor brought up the importance of accountability. I spoke with the media & included that sentiment in my remarks.
I'm proud to have received the Award for Conservative Excellence by

@ACUConservative
. WI was recognized as the 2nd most conservative legis in the nation. We've been successful in stopping Evers' liberal ideas & passing one of the most conservative budgets in a generation.
My joint statement on the upcoming joint hearing on the 2020 Presidential Election. We must ensure that every legal vote was counted and begin working to eliminate questionable practices that undermine the integrity of the vote.
Legislative Republicans have worked tirelessly to block Governor Evers’ liberal agenda and had to start from scratch building a budget made for Wisconsin. Unfortunately, it’s business as usual for the governor.

Wisconsin Assembly Speaker Robin Vos has been selected as the 50th president of the National Conference of State Legislatures. Vos will serve for the remainder of the 2022-2023 term, which ends in August.
Congratulations,

Press release:
This is one of the heartbreaking e-mails that I read at today's press conference. I hope

I was proud to vote in favor of two bills that prohibit state and local governments from banning the use or sale of a motor vehicle or other device based on its power source. These bills protect consumer choice!
The GOP tax cut plan has been officially introduced. It reduces middle class taxes, pays down debt, cuts personal property taxes and makes a deposit into the rainy day fund.

My statement on today’s ruling:
“The decision is a victory for fair elections for all Wisconsin citizens. The court agreed the rules should not be changed so close to an election and judges are not entitled to change them." (1/2)
Great meeting with
@realDrBirx
at the state Capitol today. We share her concerns about the rapid spread that Wisconsin is now experiencing. I urge everyone to follow CDC guidelines: wear a mask, socially distance and wash your hands.
It isn't fair to people who didn't go to college. Anyone who voluntarily took out a loan to better themselves shouldn't expect anybody else to pay for it. I paid back my own student loans as generations before us have.
@GovEvers
Evers also says he would support President Joe Biden seeking a second term
Evers says he also supports the president cancelling up to $10,000 in student loan debt, calling it a "good decision" that will help the economy in the long run
Governor Evers has built his budget on a house of sand. He has more money going into K12 education spending increases than all of the new revenue coming into the state. So ask yourself, how do these numbers really add up?
.
@RepSeanDuffy
has been an outstanding public servant and has made Wisconsin proud. His desire to focus on his family is no surprise to any of us who know him. He has spent his career fighting for American families, the unborn and the values that make our nation strong.
I very much enjoyed the chance to get to know Pres. Trump on a personal level. After seeing the fiasco this past week in Afghanistan, does anyone disagree that he would have never let this embarrassment happen?
