I was honoured to be at the Rashtrapati Bhavan and share my story for the 'Her Story - My Story’ initiative, launched to spotlight the journeys of Padma women awardees.
I was raised in my hometown on the borders of Karnataka. That is why my dressing sense, with the saree, gajra and ardhachandra, is inspired by the rich heritage of this area. My attire reflects the Indian culture that I am proud of.

It is hard to put into words just how much my grandmother meant to me. She was my support system for over 25 years, sharing every joy and challenge I faced along the way. I take comfort in knowing that she will always be a huge part of my life.

There is a beautiful story associated with this Kavadhi. Some years ago, I spent some time with the Devadasi community. The women insisted on gifting me something and decided on a bed cover, known as Kavadhi in Kannada.
The Bishnupur Temple complex in West Bengal is celebrated for its exquisite terracotta architecture, showcasing intricate carvings depicting Hindu mythology.
On the occasion of International Translation Day, I would like to spotlight some of my translators and extend my gratitude towards them. It is because of them that my stories reach diverse audiences in 13 regional languages.
