Mainly cost of irrisept was cheaper than wing sauce (rifampin and gent), ease of prep for scrub personal (didn’t have to open rifampin with bottle opener and no reliance on meds from pharmacy that sometimes delayed case) and convenient nosel irrigator.

Every minute longer than mean time increased infection risk by 1% above baseline. Similar findings have been shown with hips and knees in ortho data.
