From the Collection: Recovered helmet belonging to Michael T. Weinberg. Prior to joining the FDNY, he played minor league baseball. A member of Engine Company 1, Weinberg was off duty on the morning of 9/11 but self-dispatched when he heard of the attacks. He was 34 years old.
